... Where would it be?

Shamelessly posting for wanderlust-ridden traffic!

I've always wanted to go to Thailand.

Miami. By myself.

m0therofdragons · 24/01/2021 15:54

Calgary or Chicago to see family.

Xmassprout · 24/01/2021 15:54

Pangkor laut

Notgoingonholiday · 24/01/2021 15:54

rookiemere can you briefly tell me your itinerary? We are thinking of changing Florida next year to Costa Rica.
Right now I'd love to be in Cyprus at the lush holiday village we stay at.

MrsTerryPratchett · 24/01/2021 15:54

Bhutan.

I can dream. It's just as 'close' as Paris right now so why not?

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 24/01/2021 15:55

I booked feb half term off work to go for a snow holiday. Kids wanted to go back to lapland. So that first.

Then a summer holiday somewhere warm with sea to swim in. We loved Croatia, something similar. Warm sea, interesting history.

Ds2 really wants to go to Italy. Mainly because stem on holiday his diet is around 99.9% pepperoni pizza. Dd wants to visit Pompeii. DH melts in heat so we've sometimes pondered going one October half term.

For me I want to go to France. Easter 2020 would have been my (French) grandmother's 100th birthday but she died on the February. Because we all already had flights etc booked for the party we'd agreed we would go anyway and celebrate her life and do lots of the things she loved but of course couldn't. I'm having serious France pangs.

New York

I’m homeschool. My DH fab work from anywhere in the world. So I’m trying to persuade him to travel the world for 5 years. I feel this pandemic has given me a more carefree nature! And that life’s too short

I want to go anywhere. If I could pick. First I do want to go cowboy riding in Utah. But other than that. I’d go anywhere. Literally anywhere.

wlv12 · 24/01/2021 15:59

Maldives.
New York.

Lorieandrews · 24/01/2021 16:00

Oh. End of this year we are hoping to go stay in a glass igloo in Lapland! I’m desperate to take the kids and one is close to knowing Santa isn’t real. So trying to keep the magic alive just for this one year

MozzchopsThirty · 24/01/2021 16:01

Thailand the most beautiful place and best holiday I've ever had

Indecisive12 · 24/01/2021 16:03

@Trulyatraditionalman We went to langkawi before we were married with kids, loved it and I want to take the children there.

Juanbablo · 24/01/2021 16:07

Money no object it would be Hawaii and California.

Awalkintime · 24/01/2021 16:08

Cape Town

WildOrchids67 · 24/01/2021 16:09

I'd book an escorted holiday in the USA. I don't have anyone to go with but wouldn't really want yo do it alone, so sticking with a group for a few weeks seems a good way of sightseeing with some company!

rookiemere · 24/01/2021 16:09

@Notgoingonholiday - Costa Rica

  • Couple of nights at hotel outside San jose - doing a trip to amazing looking waterfall
  • 4 nights Lost Iguana hotel near Arenal - white water rafting and other things for DH and DS 14 to do
-2 nights Monteverde which you get to via boat
  • 6 nights Tulemar resort Manuel Antonio recommended by a mumsnetter - looked amazing.Sloth sanctuary and beach and other activities

and the piece de resistance was getting accommodation where we didn't have to share a room with DS, was posh enough to meet DHs criteria but within budget.

ufucoffee · 24/01/2021 16:10

I have no interest in sitting on a plane for hours. I'd be happy with a short haul to Spain

letsnotscaretheneighbours · 24/01/2021 16:11

Fiji
Samoa
Canada

Notgoingonholiday · 24/01/2021 16:15

@rookiemere sounds great...think will just copy completelyGrin
We should have had 2 holidays last year which we've never done before. The second half of Florida was in a house literally on the beach at Clearwater, not important at all in the grand scheme of things...but was holiday 'goals'.

JamieFrasersSassenach · 24/01/2021 16:20

Hawaii - Maui in particular - it looks so beautiful - beaches and mountains, surfing and hiking

EileenGC · 24/01/2021 16:23

If I was paying for it - London. I miss the city and my people there so much.

If I had the money right now, Japan or South Korea. Was meant to be there twice last spring, plus two weeks in China in the summer (all for work), all cancelled obviously...

MaverickDanger · 24/01/2021 16:23

Australia, so that’s DH’s family can meet DS.

We’ve done a hell of a lot of long haul/lived in both SE Asia & Southern Africa, so we’re desperate to do more of Europe.

Italy & Spain mainly, but Copenhagen is also on the list.

Mydogisagentleman · 24/01/2021 16:23

Spain.
We tried several times last year to book flights.
Long term plan is to retire there. DH has Irish citizenship so it’s possible.
We keep looking at property for sale around Jerez

Notimeforaname · 24/01/2021 16:25

Albania

whiteroseredrose · 24/01/2021 16:26

Sicily as soon as we're allowed.

Another year I've been looking at South Africa, Russia or Costa Rica. We're planning a fancy trip for our 25th wedding anniversary in 3 years. Hope travelling is possible by then....
