To recommend 'the help'

Watching the movie, 'the help' with Emma stone in it for the umpteenth time and just thinking what an underrated film it is.

The majority of my friends haven't seen it either so thought I'd recommend it on here.

It's about the treatment of black maids in the 1960s in America and is such a heartwarming, feel good, emotional film.

Would highly recommend to anyone that hasn't seen it. It's on Amazon prime.

I loved the book and film and sobbed at the end where the Help had to leave the little white girl.

I don't disagree with the point about the white saviour but it doesn't mean it's not a good book/film in it's own way. It is important that individuals/groups recognise and stick up for other groups after all.

It's one of my faves 🥰

I agree with the white saviour comments , especially in the film
But even son, as sanitised as it was I
Enjoyed it as Minny and Abilene were such strong actresses
But the book really evoked the fear more
This is after all the land of KKK and lynching , and even more visceral atrocities occurring
