Watching the footage of him leaving now.
Gloria! Grin

SabrinaThwaite · 20/01/2021 15:24

What was she before Trump? A model or something?

I believe “Glamour Model” is the appropriate description Wink

Oh! Shock

@PerkingFaintly

I'm a new fan of Susie Dent.

You're on fire today too, RTB.Grin

I can recommend her "Nothing Rhymes With Purple" co-podcast
Hatstrategicallydipped · 20/01/2021 15:26

From Michelle Obama (lawyer) to Melania Trump (glamour model)! America really has it all!!

DGRossetti · 20/01/2021 15:27

What on earth she ever saw in Trump I really cannot fathom

What attracted you to the millionaire Paul Daniels ?

SanFranBear · 20/01/2021 15:27

Ah, checking in! Enjoying spotting people I recognise behind their masks - and love that Bernie Sanders is so distinctive and is wearing mittens Grin

I was sat here four years ago, watching and wondering whether it could be as bad as a lot of people thought it might be. And then Trump made his speech and I just knew it would be. I'm really looking forward to hearing Joe Biden's first speech as President as I would hope it will be a damn sight more unifying than Scrotus' Amrica First shite!

Oh, today is a good day!!

Hatstrategicallydipped · 20/01/2021 15:28

Trump aside, if you were American citizens, would you naturally be a Republican or a Democrat? Or indeed, if you are American - what 'side' are you on? I'd be a strong Democrat I think. Can't say I follow US politics too closely though tbh.

viques · 20/01/2021 15:30

@cyclingmad

After being ripped to shreds by the media for 4yrs can't think why Melania looks so happy 🙄
Ripped to shreds? Oh you mean like Michelle Obama was? Actually I don’t think anyone ever claimed Melania was a man, or called Melania “ an ape in heels”, or said she had a face like a gorilla, or made racist attacks on her almost daily. And yet despite the foul abuse thrown at her , Michelle Obama worked tirelessly, kept smiling, didn’t resort to putting slogans on the back of her clothes , didn’t resort to foul mouthed rants about how mean people were to her..... be interesting to see if Melania writes a book about her experiences as FLOTUS, and , if she does , if it breaks publishing records.
cyclingmad · 20/01/2021 15:30

Oh dear media already starting on Biden before he has been inaugurated, surprising its so soon

It's possible to be a local Democrat and a POTUS Republican. Or vice versa. There are plenty of opportunities to mix it up a little.

Eisenhower, for example, was Republican. But I could easily see myself voting for him. It was a simpler world back then.

Ah, the good old New York Express Post.

It used to be a rule in debate that if you cited the Express you made the drinks.

Roussette · 20/01/2021 15:33

Oh doesn't Jill Biden look fab. I love that teal colour (as long as I can forget Handmaids Tale and the wives in it!)

And it's so refreshing to see everyone masked up. Unlike Trumpy's leaving do with no one wearing one apart from two of his very little grandchildren.

I think Melania is happy because she is slowly planning her new life away from Donald. I've said it for a long time now... this time next year I reckon she won't be with him.

Lweji · 20/01/2021 15:34

Did you spot Ted Cruz taking a selfie, no mask, cheek to cheek with someone? Arse.

DH and I are both Democrats at a local, state and national level - I could just about tolerate Susan Collins till she became such a Trump excuser.
CaveMum · 20/01/2021 15:36

Given how Covid has managed to spread like wildfire through the White House and West Wing I’d be surprised if there weren’t folk in HAZMAT suits spraying the place down with disinfectant before Biden and his staffers move in!

maggiethecat · 20/01/2021 15:36

@Viques
If these 4 years have taught us anything it's that you can't buy dignity and class.

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 20/01/2021 15:36

LOL at the poster thinking the Daily Mail and the New York Post have any credibility whatsoever.

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 20/01/2021 15:36

Apparently Bernie Sanders is wearing mittens - the guy is a class act.

pointythings · 20/01/2021 15:37

cycling I loved my late husband a great deal (before he became an alcoholic, but that's another story).

We disagreed on gun control, Northern Ireland, benefit entitlements and the justness or otherwise of the Vietnam War, amongst many other things. He was American, by the way,

Does that help?

NotaRealLawyer · 20/01/2021 15:37

Bernie Sanders reminds me of Michael Foot. Not just in his political perspective either...Grin

I'd have equated the Post with the Express, myself. Not that far above the National Enquirer.

He's also wearing a sensible coat but not quite a duffel coat.

I'd love to see what he'd have worn if this was his inauguration.

LickEmbysmiling · 20/01/2021 15:40

Yes industrial clean and priest to bless it and excorsisist.

Roussette · 20/01/2021 15:40

Just for info...
Jeffrey Epstein introduced Trump to Melania. Says it all really.

yes she was a glamour model, girl on girl, whatever... there's plenty of nude pics of her out there.
She looks good for her age. She sometimes wears nice clothes.
But she's a birther. (it's on record)
So I have no time for her whatsoever.
