Skiing at Easter?

Dallasdays · 18/01/2021 14:06

Hi all,

I am considering booking a skiing trip for Easter - first week of April. It will be refundable if we can't go due to Covid / quarantine rules on either end.

What do you think is the likelihood of us being able to go?

TIA!

I would love to go skiing this year - our ski trip got cancelled. Where are you planning to go?

The first week of April is the one that a lot of people moved their holiday to when it got cancelled. Before booking, check whether ski school has places (and will give a refund if you have to cancel).

I cant see it happening and imagine the queues if SD is in place. It won't be enjoyable.

livingthegoodlife · 18/01/2021 14:12

So tempting!!!! But sadly I think it's unlikely. I won't be booking & will consider a last minute booking if things change.

i think there is a 99% chance it will be cancelled.

Tigresswoods · 18/01/2021 14:16

In a fit of optimism we booked our usual April trip to the alps (obviously didn't happen last year) & I've come to terms since new year that this won't be going ahead.
French lifts still aren't open. I can't see them opening at all in this climate. Roll on 2022... (optimism continued !)

Agreed.

Bearing in mind that travel corridors have been in the news this past week, I wouldn't be booking until the last minute or book somewhere extra good for next year.

MrsTerryPratchett · 18/01/2021 14:18

Worse if the situation changes while you're out there. I wouldn't.

LIZS · 18/01/2021 14:20

Very unlikely. If they cannot open before end of Feb I doubt they will bother.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 18/01/2021 14:23

Not a chance!

Icanseegreenshoots · 18/01/2021 14:37

No chance, very sadly.

Wish we could go skiing or anywhere too, but I can't see it at all. Summer is the earliest we are hoping for.

Icanseegreenshoots · 18/01/2021 14:38

Book for winter 21/22! Much more chance of actually getting there - ensure everything booked can be cancelled or changed.

LadyCatStark · 18/01/2021 14:40

Absolutely no chance sorry 😢

luxxlisbon · 18/01/2021 14:42

Not likely.
