AIBU to ask if you can pick up a stomach bug if you haven't been in contact with anyone?

Exactly this. I've had a really upset tummy for three days now. Yet, apart from going for walks around the park we haven't seen anyone for over 5 days before. Literally.

It feels like a bug - although it might not be, of course - but I'm curious as to whether you can pick up something viral without contact etc

I've recently picked up a cold op and have had no contact with anyone at all apart from DH and DC (none of whom have a cold) . I haven't even stepped foot in a shop since new year so there must be a way these things spread!
Are you sure you haven't eaten something funny though, that would be my first thought with an upset stomach if no contact with others.

Possibly eaten something...but would it last this long? Wed till now? sore stomach, nausea.

I had this with dodgy meat in a pie once. Also on a separate occasion with dodgy cream. Hope you feel better soon!

Stomach bugs are viral or bacterial infections. They can be picked up from someone else, or via lack of hygiene eg with pets, or from food. Either food that has gone off, not been cooked properly, that you have touched and transferred to your mouth before cooking, or raw food that has been in contact with other contaminated food and not cooked eg lettuce in contact with raw chicken juices in the supermarket. So you dont need to have been in contact with anyone

Sorry meant to say I highly recommend charcoal tablets to soak up the yuck from your system. I always keep some handy now.
