My dd 23 has been detained under the mental health act. This is her first admission but has struggled with her mental health for many years. The nurse today told me that if I wasn’t for her age as they view her as more vulnerable she probably wouldn’t have been sectioned. I feel this was quite invalidating as surely once people are adults the same criteria applies.
