The Riley Williams story is really weird.
She pops up in the ITV film - she's the woman directing people up the stairs to Pelosi's office.
Then weirdly ITV identify her. The only person they have. They go talk to her Mum who says 'Riley isnt like that' before showing her footage of her daughter. Mum then goes shes really upset by what's shes seen. She knew her daughter was going with her Dad to the rally but only to watch.
They then say that Williams has apparently disappeared and her whereabouts are unknown.
Then this story breaks about how deep in shit she seems to be. An ex says she told him she'd stolen Pelosi's laptop or hard drive and planned to sell it to a Russian friend who was going to sell it to Russian intelligence. But there's no charges for this and no evidence apart from the word of a malicious ex who has form against her.
The earlier reports on this case say that there no formal report of a laptop having been stolen, but reading around there does appear to be a report on the 7th where someone in authority does say there is a missing laptop. But its not a prominent story.
It also turns out that been using the Russian social media site Telegram.
Then theres then this video thats appeared of Riley Williams seemingly running AWAY from the Capitol building whilst people are still trying to get into it.
Its weird.
Did ITV just get lucky or suspect something particularly fishy with this woman?
