I will pack my DP's bags if he eats any more sauce or chutney straight from the jar!

Semi Lighthearted Though it does get on my wick!

My DP likes to have apple sauce, mint sauce, or chutney with his main meal and humous or soft cheese for snacks.

My AIBU is that he always dips the spoon in and out of the jar and straight into his piehole, or will take a scotch egg or a bit of pork pie and drag it through the humous or cheese. He is not the only one in the house that eats these items.

It drives me insane when I go to have something and it is full of breadcrumbs, pastry and even gravy from the day before!!

Should I tell him to pack his bags Wink

This is my biggest pet peeve and sometimes I wonder if I truly could get away with murder if it came to it.

My partner always dips his pizza, scotch egg, pork pie, whatever other disgusting food he’s eating into the shared dips and hummus and I’ve got ridiculous issues with my foods touching 😂

This is even worse being 5 months pregnant. I’ve had to start portioning out sauce for him to make sure I don’t go to have some hummus at a later date and find crumbs in it 😭

QueenOfLabradors · 15/01/2021 15:43

Looks like he'd better start checking out alternative accommodation... 100% yanbu so far!

SpudsandGravy · 15/01/2021 15:43

Confused Yuk...

OliviaKeeling · 15/01/2021 15:44

That is vile 🤢

Dizzy1234 · 15/01/2021 15:46

Offering you an alibi if you snap and murder him, it's disgusting

Harmarsuperstar · 15/01/2021 15:49

That's horrible 🤮

TeachesOfPeaches · 15/01/2021 15:51

He needs to buy his own personal jars of these items and let his family use other ones

BrutusMcDogface · 15/01/2021 15:52

That is filthy. Definitely kick him out.

Santaiscovidfree · 15/01/2021 15:53

Builders are still allowed to work op...

NoWordForFluffy · 15/01/2021 15:54

That's really grim! 🤮

purplebagladylovesgin · 15/01/2021 16:02

We had similar in our house.

I tried to explain how disgusting this is but was ignored.

I simply said they can continue to do this, but anything this happens to is contaminated and therefore disposed of.

Now when some filthy person, someone takes a swig of milk or Pepsi from the container and puts it back, I step forward, upend the container in front of them tipping it away. They then have to walk to the corner shop to replace it.

Same with anything that can't be finished. So pickles, cheese spread, anything that goes back into the fridge or cupboard that's been double dipped. It get thrown out in front of the person that's eaten it.

I've ranted at them enough. It's disgusting. So I now do this as it's the only thing that's stopped them in their tracks. It's because it directly affects them. Lazy!!!

TheMobileSiteMadeMeSignup · 15/01/2021 16:02

Ewwww nope, that's vile. Jars or shared condiments get portioned out!!!!

We are looking at adding a little patio area outside our front door...just saying...

Cheddarcheeseandsodabread · 16/01/2021 15:39

WOW! Thanks, everyone - thought I might be being a tad overdramatic! Grin

TheMobileSiteMadeMeSignup Thank you! Will bear that in mind Grin

CallistoSol · 16/01/2021 16:07

That would be a deal breaker for me. Beyond grim.

sueelleker · 16/01/2021 16:34

Does he leave toast crumbs in the butter too?

Godimabitch · 16/01/2021 16:56

Gross. I'd bin everything that got bits in it tbh.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 16/01/2021 17:03

Does he eat some off the spoon then put it back in the jar? If yes, that's rank.
Have a look and see if there's like watery stuff on top of the sauce or whatever - that's where the saliva transferred back in has started to digest the food in the jar.
My friend used to feed her baby half a jar of baby food straight from the jar then put it in the fridge and on the second go it was all watery on top... 🤢

GypsyLee · 16/01/2021 17:14

Oh, do show him this thread when you tell him Grin
Hopefully, it will have the desired effect.

FrankButchersDickieBow · 16/01/2021 17:17
