Just seen a post on FB where people are talking about a scene from a film/TV series that has stuck in their minds.....seeing some of them has brought back some pretty scary memories.
Mine is the scene from Salems Lot where the vampire floats up to the window, taps on it and rasps "let me in".
Took me years after that to look out the window in the dark Hmm
Does anyone else have "fond" memories??

I can't remember what is called but a film where they're trapped in a dimension of lots of different white rooms in which time/space/gravity/physics is all different and I think peoples worst fears come true. For some reason totally freaked me out!

Jack Nicholson breaking down the door with an axe in The Shining. Eek!

This used to terrify me as well but then I watched film they took of him getting himself worked up and into character just before they filmed the scene for real and I loved it, so now I don't mind that scene at all.

That fucking screaming bear in “Annihilation”. Shit me up just reading about it. Then I watched it and it was worse than I thought it would be.

Omg the master in Salem's lot. Sad

We collected a greenhouse last year, my DH was putting the glass in the car, and I remembered the Omen scene, decapitation. Arghhh

There is a movie where I am from and I remember like a 5 second innocent scene but it gives me goose bumps. It's from 70s and animated and falls under animated/horror/fairytale according to movie pages😂 I watched when I was really young. Well under 10. It's few decades now and I still have that goose bumbs.
It was few years ago I actually told my mum who helped me look for the movie. I am yet to watch it again😂
I love horror though!

Spooky horror stuff just makes me laugh, but the end of The Wicker Man freaks me out

I agree, the way Edward Woodward shouts “oh, god, oh god help me!”at the end is terrifying! It’s an excellent film - it keeps you so tense throughout. The remake with Nicholas Cage was terrible though.

Don't know if anyone has watched the series Black Mirror on Netflix....its not scary as in horror genre but it's definitely a bit freaky!
I think its Episode 1 or 2 that has a prime minister and a pig.....I shall no more apart from disturbing!

The film Duel is very scary and is one of those where nothing bloody, violent or gruesome really happens but it plays on your mind.

The ending of Don't Look Now (?) Kiefer Sutherland's dad is in it and it was so fucking boring that the ending took me by surprise, and by surprise I mean shat myself.

I rented The Exorcist when I was about 11 and afterwards I wouldn't even have the VHS in my room.

It is usually the old stuff which has this affect on people, isn't it? I don't find most new horrors having impression on me like Salem's Lot did.

@LutherRalph1

There is a scene in Luther where a man slides out from under the bed, and honestly, it's terrifying

Just was going to post this one too. When he comes down through the ceiling and you can see the couple in the kitchen just in the next room. Terrifying. It took me ages got be able to relax in my own room. I have loads of stuff under my bed for a reason and even this didn't help.

@MarieIVanArkleStinks

The one that sticks with me is the 'head on a stick' scene in Wolf Creek.

Wolf Creek was totally gratuitous and the second one was even scarier than the first! There's something about that whole vast, eerie, vibrating emptiness of the outback that even film can pick up and transmit to an audience, before you've ever visited the place.

John Jarratt was magnificent. I saw that shadow in my dreams for a few nights afterwards!

This is the last "slasher" type film I watched ... disturbed me for days. I can't watch them now at all Confused

@SchadenfreudePersonified you are right - apart from Paranormal Activity nothing new has really played on my mind. I think its because I put it down to special effects etc, whereas older films seem more "real"
