Lodger eating my food

My lodger has admitted to eating food out of my pan - leftovers from what I cooked, that I went back and put into a container to eat the next day. I must have been gone for no more than 20 mins. She claims to have had one spoon.

I find this utterly repulsive. AIBU?

I find it repulsive that you are moaning about someone admitting that they were hungry and tried spoonful of your leftovers.Seriously?
If you are that sensitive why did you ever considered a lodger?

imalmosthere · 13/01/2021 19:00

You didn't get a stomach ache from that 😂
And she very well may have had one spoon, your paranoia isn't necessarily correct.

@hellejuice91

It isn't something that would personally bother me, but I do know it would bother my Husband.

But I think your reaction to it tells me there has probably been a number of other incidents and that you aren't happy with the lodger in general, maybe it is time to revisit the living situation?

In conclusion:
YANBU for not liking the fact she did it
YABU for not thinking where this over reaction may have come from

Agree with PP's comment
She makes a very good set of points and Hope it helps OP

I REALLY want to know the answer for the stomach ache link @Confusedashell12

How did that conversation come about? Very strange. I don't think you should have a lodger op, you sound like you'd be far better suited to living alone. And as for the lodger devouring your left overs you must be a good cook, because that's weird too x

Did you not reheat the leftovers?
