To kick DH out the bed

THE SNORING
Honestly can't cope tonight. I'm shattered, almost time of the month and I've never been so irritated in my life.
I've woke him up about 6 times in the last hour to try and get him to stop but bloody hell he's almost lifting the roof with the racket!
Help 😖

@sadcatdiary

Yes!! Exactly the kind of person I wanted to appear on this thread! That's my kind of solution

Also to the poster who asked, no he isn't obese. Just overtired I think.

@fibeee

That's a good idea how a couple spares in the wardrobe will go slide some under his head see if that helps

DH and I sleep apart now because he snores like a fucking walrus. Even the DC have complained they get woken up so I got the bed and he got the sofa Wink

It really is vile. Not their fault per say, but vile!

noteabagsleft · 13/01/2021 00:21

@SquirtleSquad

A walrus!! This describes him perfectly 😂 made me laugh

Do you have a tv in your room?
If DH is making too much noise I typically kick him or give him a shove and hope that when he moves he doesn’t start up again

But, if it’s too much I’ll put the tv on. The sound helps drown him out but also the light and noise ruin his sleep a bit
So he’s not in quite as deep sleep and then he doesn’t snore.
If he’s got something on or isn’t well I won’t do it obviously
But I figure it’s better we both get an ok sleep rather than he gets an amazing sleep and I want to kill everyone in the morning Grin

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 13/01/2021 00:24

Why the hell isn't he getting referred to the sleep apnoea clinic, I was five minutes away from losing my drivers license because of sleep apnoea.
They told me if you snore too much like this you can easily crash your car by falling asleep wiping out other people with you.
I take it very seriously now and have a CPAP machine which I use every night.

NoOneOwnsTheRainbow · 13/01/2021 00:24

Ok all the sympathy ever, I threatened to move into a hotel at one point it got so bad. There are several things you can do.

  1. Earplugs for you (if you don't have any, just keep folding a sheet of loo roll and stuff in your ears, it will help).
  2. He needs to do snoring exercises (there are exercises for snoring).
  3. When the NHS works again, he should get a sleep assessment for apnoea (we waited so long, we have given up).
  4. You can get a "stop snoring device" on Amazon. I find it doesn't stop the snoring but it makes it quieter.
  5. If all else fails, make him sleep elsewhere until he takes his health seriously and gets it looked into and sorted.

Like most of the NHS, it's currently not working properly???
We were on the referral list for over a year and never got to the front before we emigrated last month.

noteabagsleft · 13/01/2021 00:25

@Shehasadiamondinthesky

As I said previously, this is a lighthearted thread. He doesn't usually snore like this unless he's been drinking. Im not sure one night of horrendous snoring means he has sleep apnea.
Sorry to hear about your condition though, sounds very scary

I have a small dog who likes to sleep on people’s faces if you’d like to borrow him? Grin

willowtree66 · 13/01/2021 00:27

Put the pillow over his face, press down firmly. That should sort the snoring 😂😂😂

noteabagsleft · 13/01/2021 00:27

@Baileysoncereal

Yes I have a tv and it's already on, not quite sure it's making him sleep any less deeply though 🙄

OP posts:
noteabagsleft · 13/01/2021 00:28

Maybe the pillow and the dog would be effective 😂

My ex was so bad that I went out to sleep in the car. I feel your pain.

noteabagsleft · 13/01/2021 00:31

@SheldonesqueIsUnwell

That's extreme!! And here's me thinking mines is bad 😂

I’ll send him over, he does a great innocent look as well 😇
noteabagsleft · 13/01/2021 00:34

@OnceUponAMidnightBeery

Ahh bless would much rather have a dog next to me than this snoring lump so might just kick him out after all

We had a small bungalow. There was no escape so the only option when he’d been drinking was the car.

Someone did report it to the polis (they thought he was making me sleep out there)

I opened the front door and they understood. Instantly.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 13/01/2021 00:35

Sympathies, OP. My DP is a massive snorer - I recommend the silicon earplugs over the foam ones. I shouldn’t complain too much (I do) as I suffer from night terrors and periodically wake myself up screaming blue murder which is more scary for him than me.

😂

I should add that none of Beery’s husbands have died of dog smothering related injuries. yet

Dog does hog the covers tho Grin

BeaLola · 13/01/2021 00:42

Sympathies - luckily we have a spare room if I decide to decamp to get sleep.

I recorded my DH one instance on my phone and played it back to him next day - he had no idea just his loud he was

There is a thread currently on AIBu re sex dreams of Greg Davies - perhaps you should start calling out his name and having your own loud dream to wake up your DH - that or start looking at patio designs .....

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 13/01/2021 00:42

beery

I’d have rented your dog Grin

If nothing else it would have kept me company in the car!

Great news, OP! Wine

Hopefully we live close to one another, we wouldn't want to get arrested for breaching the rules while installing this patio.

NoseinBook3 · 13/01/2021 00:52

Mine did this. It turned out that he has sleep apnea. It’s improved a lot since he was given a CPAP

Grin Thanks @SheldonesqueIsUnwell - perhaps this is service I should look into providing?

Rent my dog- he’s warm, affectionate, very cuddly, and may smother your snoring husband if you drape him just right Grin

I’ll split the profits with you 😂
