AIBU to think online dating is shite!

I have gone onto online dating after 14 years to see if I can meet some (virtually at the moment). What I don't get is why can't the men just have a conversation. Is there some unwritten rule that you can't have more than a 1 line sentence chat and then only answer every 3 or 4 days. And these are the ones that contact me first!!
You would think now is the time to have lovely chats when there is nothing else to do in an evening!

You would think so. There’s some good online dating threads on the relationship board, and it seems it’s pretty grim online dating atm. I did it some years ago, and it seemed okay then, but appears to be a bit brutal now.

I always see threads like this, and honestly, it's just not my experience at all. I love it. It's a numbers game. Press like on anyone you like. Of the responses, yes some will be like you describe, so sack them off, move on to the next, there's thousands!
