To think that she should just stop commenting on my name?

I've been part of this local tight-knit volunteering group for about a year now. Recently, there was a change in 'leadership' which is fine. I have, however, been told by her (twice!) to change my email address (it's listed in the private group listing) as it looks 'rude'!

My email address is simply firstnamelastname, with my first name being probably the most popular shortened variant of a fairly popular name. In her eyes, it contains nothing but 2 bad words which 'gives the wrong impression'. Surely people aren't that daft to not realise that it's just my name, and a well-known one at that?

I'm gobsmacked by the ridiculousness of it all. AIBU?

I once had a colleague called Richard A Peackock. Out company email addresses were [email protected]

Two rude words...struggling to think of a shortened popular first name that sounds rude, except Fanny (which isn't really that popular), unless it's the combination of the shortened first name and part of the second name that makes the first rude word.

this is so obviously a wind up. But a fun one at that!

Making names up is one thing, laughing at real people is another.

Just a thought - if it’s a gmail address and it is the combo of first and last names that causes the problem, then you can add a dot between them without actually changing your email address. That might be enough to stop her whinging?
