I guess I'm really looking less for AIBU and more for experiences of business owners or employees that have worked for or with family if you've had a good or bad experience dealing with.
I understand it's a massive risk recruiting a family member - however this person is someone who I think would be exceptional at the role and is someone that if I would recruit if I didn't know him and they came to interview.
For context I run a small company of approx 15 employees.
Another layer of complexity is that I have another close family member that wanted a position, however they are not in a position to do the role due their family commitments (they would assure me this is not the case but I feel I am right to make this judgment from things I've seen). Also I don't think this person would be suited to a role which obviously puts me in an awkward position.
So I'm asking two things - success stories of family recruitment relationships and also, hiring one close family member over another thoughts/advice please?
