My husband, 3 year old son and I have lived in a rented flat for 3 years through platform housing (waterloo housing) and we have had so many problems. We have had mould in every room due to an old boiler not working for a month, leaking pipe in the bathroom that floods the whole bathroom, airing cupboard and communal area and repeated problems with an old boiler. We have got environmental health monitoring them to make them speed up with repairs. The current problem I am having is we had a new boiler installed in October. A gas safety check was due in november this appointment I forgot about and missed them so I do take fault for it however the second appointment no one turned up and I waited in all day. That same day repairs were meant to be carried out for the leaking pipe a card was pushed through the door they didn't knock or ring the bell I was near the door at the time. I ran out the flat to tell them we are in but they took off and left. They also failed to turn up for another plumbing appointment and they marked it on their system as a completed job. Our new boiler stopped working in november. Repairman came out fixed it turned out to be dropped pressure and said because it's a new boiler a gas safety check isn't needed. However we recently got a letter stating they are going to do a gas check tuesday. If we don't let them in we'll be put in court and be at risk of eviction. They have also turned off our gas. Now have no heat and hot water for 3 days. This is unacceptable for my 3 year old. I am on medication for anxiety as it is and the stress the housing association has put me through is not helping my anxiety. Does anyone know if a gas check is really needed for a 2 month old boiler?
