His twitter account is suspended Grin

@Quaagars

He was back a few hours ago when I looked and back to tweeting shit? Has he gone again?! I can't keep up lol
Yes his account has been removed in the same way as Katie Hopkins was. There’s nothing there now other than his picture and bio.

He was back after a 12 hour access ban, but he used that time to once again glorify the behaviour or the rioters calling them true patriots, saying something about them still having his support.

Thanks, I saw those tweets and was like Hmm
Didn't realise he'd been kicked off since then though.
Glad he has though. just been reading an article saying why he's gone and how the tweets were being intepreted by others/inciting further violence and I see why he was banned.

AlexaShutUp · 09/01/2021 02:12

Good decision. Just a little sad that we don't get to see his reaction....

MrsTerryPratchett · 09/01/2021 02:29

I'm sure there's a record of every one of his tweets. Probably in court records soon enough.

And you can't launch nukes with just the codes. You need some military types to do the heavy lifting then they say, "Mr President it's time" and then the whole nuclear football shenanigans happens. This includes the secretary of defence, who technically has no power of veto but in RL would say, "fuck that noise" and call the Vice President who would immediately invoke the 25th amendment.

Topseyt · 09/01/2021 02:31

It's a good decision. Though he has been trying to use the official POTUS account, hasn't he?

I guess tabs will have to be kept on that.

480Widdio · 09/01/2021 02:34

Yep gone for good.

His supporters are organising massive protests, dark days ahead for America..

Namechangebuttercup · 09/01/2021 02:50

I wouldn't get too excited. This just moves him elsewhere, it doesn't silence him. He'll be on Parler (I don't know it)..but hopefully it doesn't have verified accounts so there'll be loads of fake ones in his name! Grin unless all online platforms shut him down - including the alternative ones, then he'll still be rallying the "troops". Only difference is, it'll be somewhere people like us don't see him.

This also plays into the idea his followers have that the main stream media (and everything else) is against him. I mean they are, generally, but it's not a conspiracy theory.

RizzleDrizzle · 09/01/2021 03:00

Donny jr is going off his rocker - so daddy dearest may well be using his account

Malin52 · 09/01/2021 03:40

Well it's acts like this that will make him even more of a Martyr and adds more fuel to the fire of an MSM conspiracy/lack of free speech/cancel culture media . Let him shoot his mouth off and we can all see what a lunatic he is.

Furthermore the fact he is praising the rioters kind of shoots down the argument of all the fundamentalist christians that it was Antifa in disguise.... he's helping his enemy here...

MaitlandGirl · 09/01/2021 04:09

He’s still using the POTUS account. The mad titan at his best.

Terracottasaur · 09/01/2021 04:26

Haaaahahahahahahshshagaha

FLOTUSA · 09/01/2021 04:34

Tell me about it Hmm

zerrydeeer · 09/01/2021 04:45

Only suspended as he is going from president to pleb

Grin
lovelemoncurd · 09/01/2021 04:51

How on earth did that specimen get to be president? Why did it take Twitter so long to remove him?

JamieLeesCurtains · 09/01/2021 05:00

All the people only choosing to desert him now are such cowards. They know they helped to create this monster.

They know they should have acted sooner. They put and kept a dangerous lunatic in the White House.

I hope they perish with him in the frozen wastelands.

thosetalesofunexpected · 09/01/2021 05:42

@PastMyBestBeforeDate

"Its a loss to the world of Literature"

😁😀😁

AlternativePerspective · 09/01/2021 06:02

It’s a symbolic gesture, as is talk of impeachment.

Trump has 11 days left in office, there have been multiple reasons to ban his twitter account before now but they haven’t, it’s naive to think that they just didn’t act quickly enough. The president has power whether people want it to be trump or not. There would have been repercussions for banning the leader of what is perceived to be the most powerful country in the west, but now that he’s essentially no longer in office that doesn’t matter any more because there’s a new leader.

The same with impeachment. he will have left office before he could be impeached, so why do it other than because it’s symbolic. They could have invoked the 25th amendment instead but they didn’t.

And now Trump is all over social media in that everyone is talking about him, he’s more newsworthy than he ever was, just at the point he could have disappeared into obscurity.

It’s a win for Trump in that sense.

HeronLanyon · 09/01/2021 06:12

blue yes ‘covfefe’ ! Had forgotten those days when the discussions of insanity/instability and merciless mirth were swirling around this word.
I feel I may need a t-shirt !

TipseyTorvey · 09/01/2021 06:22

What lovely news to wake up to. I feel slightly cleansed to know my sm feeds can't include his latest mad hate filled rants. Pretty sure he's gone over to Parler, the white supremists party zone, but at least I can't see it anymore.

peak2021 · 09/01/2021 08:20

Social media platforms go ape at the sight of a woman breastfeeding or a topless sunbathing picture, yet are slow to ban hate of any kind.

About time this was done.

thecatfromjapan · 09/01/2021 08:23

About time.

Apparently social media is now rife with plans for two more violent insurrections by the people Trump has incentivised.

Pigtailsandall · 09/01/2021 08:23

Suspend, remove from office, imprison

JamieLeesCurtains · 09/01/2021 08:34

Trump's hopefully going to be impeached, investigated and indicted, as is his ghastly family. Let's see how they enjoy that kind of limelight.

Don Jr is really unstable already.

Topseyt · 09/01/2021 18:06

I think that it will still be worthwhile impeaching him again provided that the Republicans don't later acquit him.

It would mean that he couldn't stand for the presidency again in four years time. Or so I understand, but happy to stand corrected if necessary.

I suppose that he would just pass the baton on to younger family members like Donald Trump Junior or even Ivanka if that happened. Still, at least it would limit his personal scope a little.
