Is it do a poo or have a poo?

What do you say?

I say neither because I never mention these things.

What is correct english language wise?
If you're doing a poo, you're doing something so that makes sense. Having a poo sounds like you're eating it.. But then we say 'have a shower' don't we? Not do a shower. I don't like when people say 'I'm going to get a shower' (is B&Q open)?

Sorry. I'm having a day off from life today and this just sprang into my head. Humour me please.

whereas lots of folk would say "taking a shit" which sounds like it belongs to someone else...…

I'm working today and clearly not concentrating.

Both are also verbs, to poo and to shower would also be fine. Not at the same time though obviously Envy

I think it is either do or going for...as in “I’m going for a poo” or I’m going to do a poo.

I have discussed this with my teen sons. Ds1 says it's doing a poo, Ds2 says you are pushing out a poo

I’d say have.
Have is pleasingly vague... you could have a cup of tea, and have a shower. Quite different activities.

I don’t like “have a poo”, it sounds like you’ve chosen to “have” a poo and you’re going to faff around and be leisurely about it.

“Do a poo” sounds more efficient and utilitarian. Go in, do poo, wash hands, out.

I can't think of an occasion when I'd need to give that much information, TBH.
I'd probably just say I was going to the loo/toilet?

duvet it isnt a TAAT but inspired by what people say on threads really. 'If you're doing a poo do you stand up to wipe' I've seen recently. And a response to a question about loo anxiety ' I can have a poo with others in the house' etc.
I never give that much info either. I only say I'm going to the loo if I'm in the middle of something involving others (at work or in a pub etc)..

I just say ‘I’m going to the toilet’. Don’t think I’ve ever said ‘I’m going for a shit’.
