Everyone knew what was coming.

The events of Charlottesville a few years ago were the hint that the MAGA groups are not at all engaged with the formal political process.

My guess is that there has been contact with the Democratic Party with advice given to stay the heck away.

But it’s never been clear to me what’s wrong with bookmarks rather than PMKing all over the threads.

The US looks like a huge democracy from a certain distance but up close you realise it's a clumsily put together raft that continues to float only because everyone continues to row desperately in the same direction, by an unspoken mutual agreement. Once significant numbers of people start pulling in different directions the seaworthiness becomes a matter of great concern.

I believe that there are too few ratified members on trump’s cabinet to invoke the 25th amendment, many of them are “acting” members who haven’t been confirmed by Congress(?).

Trump should’ve been more careful about the forces he unleashed. Once the genie is out of the bottle it’s very difficult to get it back in.

Trump wants this. If he can’t have America he’d rather see it burn. Trump was clearly an unstable narcissist from the beginning. The blame lies with the Republicans who are not unbalanced but thought they could harness this for their benefit. The ramifications of this are going to last a long time.
