Garden furniture in the lounge

We’re moving house next week and have been packing everything and selling a lot of furniture in preparation. The sofas wouldn’t have worked in the new place so we sold all of them too and now we’re here for a week with just some dining chairs to use. We thought it’d be fine but not very comfortable to watch TV in this evening. We have two really plush garden sofas in the garden - would we be unreasonable to bring them in for the week? I’m assuming this would make us very uncouth but possibly worth it anyway.. 😆

Definitely not unreasonable. A friend of mine moved house a couple of years ago..they still have garden furniture inside the house Grin

CaffeineInfusion · 05/01/2021 21:10

That brings back memories😁

My first flat was furnished with 2 deckchairs and a couple of beanbags.

Happy days🤣

grapewine · 05/01/2021 21:14

I would 😂

VaggieMight · 05/01/2021 21:15

Why wouldn't you? I'd feel a bit of a tit sat on dining chairs in the evening.

Starllyow · 05/01/2021 21:18

@VaggieMight more or less of a tit than you would do with the garden furniture in your lounge? Grin

We do this. My late MIL's house is for sale, and we have donated most of the furniture, so we use our garden chairs to watch TV when we visit the house.

Iooselipssinkships · 05/01/2021 21:24

I love my garden sofa, do it OP! Sod getting a square arse sat on your dining chairs.

DdraigGoch · 05/01/2021 21:25

It's not like anyone is going to be visiting to see it in the near future.

Plussizejumpsuit · 05/01/2021 21:26

God! Do whatever you need to to make a house move easier. You don't want a bad back on top of moving stress! Do it!

PurpleDandelions · 05/01/2021 21:27

We've been using a camping chair for weeks now as our overly large xmas tree was blocking half the sofa's view of the tv 😂

MillieVanilla · 05/01/2021 21:31

Just think, with Lockdown who will know? Grin

PattyPan · 05/01/2021 21:32

When we first moved into our house we had an air mattress and two deck chairs so that sounds fine by me!

Starllyow · 05/01/2021 21:33

Haha 😆 right we’re doing it!!!!

We did this for a while whilst having an extension built (long story). We we as cosy as can be on the corner garden sofa! Do it!

DelphineWalsh · 05/01/2021 21:38

I had garden swing bench in my first flat because it was more comfortable and affordable than a proper sofa.

elsaesmeralda · 05/01/2021 21:42

Do it!!

Phlip · 05/01/2021 21:44

My DS moved into an unfurnished flat 2 days ago. No sofa and shops are now shut, he was planning on buying from a charity shop. Instead he has a fold up garden chair.

wowfudge · 05/01/2021 21:44

It's not as though you'll be having a housewarming anytime soon - jdi.

userxx · 05/01/2021 21:50

When I first moved into my house, The "kitchen" dining table and chairs was an outdoor bistro set, looked lovely

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 05/01/2021 21:51

Yes nothing wrong with that.

Leave the parasol outside though, and don't even think about dragging the trampoline in. Grin

LaurieFairyCake · 05/01/2021 21:53

Make sure you check underneath them

For GIANT spiders, rats and in one of my mates gardens - a fox 🦊

LaurieFairyCake · 05/01/2021 21:54

BEFORE you bring them in Grin

Scarby9 · 05/01/2021 21:55

I had that bamboo conservatory furniture - a settee and two arm chairs - in my living room for 6 years in my first house.
I couldn't affort what I really wanted and it had plump cushions and was fine for the purpose.

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 05/01/2021 22:01

Sounds like you will need them at the other end too for a bit? I'd bring them in, give them a quick clean and get on with it.

HolaChicos · 05/01/2021 22:26

We've had our garden furniture in our lounge for 9 years 🤭 to be fair, it's our outdoor decking furniture that we had when we lived in Australia so it's pretty awesome and it doesn't look like outdoor furniture. We recently tried to replace it by ordering a new one through Sofology but the fuckers cocked up the order so we're stuck with it 🤷‍♀️
