It’s just me, so would I BU to say fuck cooking, throw caution to the wind and have hot chocolate and a picky tea?

@QueenPawPaws

Lidl cheese, definitely recommend!
Oh fab. I will get this next time I go!! We love the cheese bakes they did but they seem to be a time limited product. Why Lidl, why???
blibblibs · 02/01/2021 18:25

I did a picky tea last night, not just me at home either. DH & DCs were handed a plate and I opened the fridge door for them, easiest tea ever!
Tonight's tea was stovies which I think may be my favouriteist meal ever.

murasaki · 02/01/2021 18:26

@TheScurrilousFunge- it's our pet name for it. Freeze or eat as soon as possible, there are some great treats, but you know.....

I'm going to Lidl on Monday, I hope they have some left 🤞🏻😋🧀
Tempusfudgeit · 02/01/2021 18:28

Eggy bread here - food of the Gods!

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 02/01/2021 18:29

@QueenPawPaws remove the gerkins and you have won tea tonight. My pasta bake looks shit in comparison Grin

Sacredspace · 02/01/2021 18:31

I question why we cook so often/at all! What’s wrong with chopping up some peppers, cucumber, carrot, apple, grapes, cheese, crackers, maybe open a yogurt?
You could argue a warm meal is comforting in winter, but most have central heating these days. Unless you really enjoy cooking there are many ways around it which are often much healthier options!

murasaki · 02/01/2021 18:31

Pasta bake is a fine thing though. I did a haggis and smoked ham mac and cheese yesterday. It was lush, and is now in the fridge having a little think about it for left over lunch tomorrow....

QueenPawPaws · 02/01/2021 18:32

@Whatelsecouldibecalled I'm obsessed with gherkins Blush and they taste like McDonald's ones Grin

TheScurrilousFunge · 02/01/2021 18:33

Mmm. Leftovers are always better. Lets the flavours meld.

Antirrhinum · 02/01/2021 18:36

@MaskingForIt

A hot chocolate and a cup of tea? Won’t you be weeing all evening?

What about having some food?

Hmm
MrsDThomas · 02/01/2021 18:36

Its still that time where you cant be arsed, and unsure what day it is.

Ive had a pizza and 2 mince pues and a cup of tea (no alchohol)

Older dd has been to the shop with her dad and all she wanted was the Rustler micro burger🤢

Other 3 gave had fish and chips.

Back to routine tomorrow with a lovely beef dinner

murasaki · 02/01/2021 18:37

Meld is good. He says fester. I object to this and prefer have a little think about it. But yes, many things do better the next day.

thefirstmrsrochester · 02/01/2021 18:39

Spaghetti carbonara here to use up porchetta left over from NY, lunch was soup made with the tail end of frozen green veg. No complaints from my lot (who were originally wanting chippy fish and chips). Cheese and crackers for later. The upside of no household gatherings has been lots of bits and pieces left over.

NuniaBeeswax · 02/01/2021 18:39

You are being exceptionally unreasonable to call it a picky tea/bits.

What shall I call it then?

We're getting takeaway tonight and then that's it..no takeaway for the rest of January, I'm sick of eating 🐷

Really surprised we got to page two before this comment was rolled out Grin

WTAF? Nunia OF COURSE it's picky tea/bits!!

It's actually a thing!

Worried234 · 02/01/2021 18:54

@ElDanglio

Always a 'picky tea' consists of 'picky bits' .

It's important to understand!

Both phrases give me the ick.

That's rude. I would refuse to share my festered food with him after that.
TheScurrilousFunge · 02/01/2021 18:59

@ElDanglio Of course it's a thing! It's totally a thing!

CranberryCaballe · 02/01/2021 19:01

The question is Twiglets or Pringles with your picky tea, or both.

ElDanglio · 02/01/2021 19:04

TheScurrilous I KNOW!

It is isn't it!! It is actually a thing!

I thought I was going mad there for a minute! Glitterball
