Does anyone else have a kid stomping and banging all day above me??

The couple who live above me have a 5year old child who all day long runs bang and stomps so loud on my ceiling. I never get a break. I no it's part of living in an apartment and I'm currently hoping to do a exchange as I'm a council tenant. Any tips on how I cope with this? I can't even sit in my living room as he's so damn loud I have to sit in my bedroom everyday. I'm moaning I know any tips would be good? Anyone else live this way?

Also Iv complained previously about them playing super loud music and being so loud in the middle of night. Which has stopped a little and they caused me abuse verbally and would bounce constantly on my ceiling on purpose. I'm at my wits end.

megletthesecond · 30/12/2020 17:49

My own sadly.

I have it next door. Screaming from 6am until 10pm, kicking and banging my wall, throwing things... I'm just about at my wits end.

My own. We take turns to take them out but every path is crowded with people takk daily exercise.

I used to have neighbors above that had twin 5 year olds, between them screaming at eachother (parents) and being pregnant it was a nightmare my newborn met the police twice. They 5 year olds were always running around and one of my frames fell and smashed. I end d up moving.

Hankunamatata · 30/12/2020 18:38

Just my own and they irritate me with banging and crashing. I give my neighbours nice presents at Christmas and apologise yearly for the noise

Wineisrequired · 30/12/2020 18:41

I feel your pain working in my living room since March and next doors kids make so much noise it sounds like a herd of elephants running around . One of the children screams a lot as well . I’ve moved from room to room in the house but can still hear them . The worst thing is it’s not even their house it’s their mums but the 2 daughters are there every day with children in tow 😞

SuperCaliFragalistic · 30/12/2020 18:47

5 year olds are like that unfortunately. Mine doesn't sit still for a second.

Thanks for all the replies.

The tenants above me aren't council, I have complained on a few occasions about there noise (loud music until all hours and banging) that's sort of calmed down a bit. It's just there kid that's so annoying! My kids can't go to there bed until the kid above us has went to sleep it's a nightmare.

I'm looking at moving via a exchange so here's hoping.

I just want some quiet time lol this morning at 5am I had the couple stomping like really heavy walking.

Noise cancelling headphones or noise reflecting tiles. My downstairs neighbour accuses me of jumping around in the night when it's me walking to the loo making 0 noise at my end. The floorboards are magnifying it into their room.

So it's likely an issue with the noise insulation/sound proofing and they likely can't tell how loud they are.
