I’ve just got one, absolutely love it. So nice to sit watching telly at night under the lovely snuggly thing. The best thing is.....so cheap to use. Anyone else have one?

Yep, I got one in my stocking I agree perfect to snuggle under to watch TV in evenings, especially with snow outside. Also got a heated seat pad that can plug into a USB so can charge from either power pack or phone charger and can control temperature. Perfect to take to watch cricket matches in April and May when it is still cold. Also got a soup thermos flask in stocking. DH did well this year.

JohnMiddleNameRedactedSwanson · 30/12/2020 22:17

Your stocking must be massive! Grin

caringcarer · 30/12/2020 22:17

DH got mine on a Groupon deal. It is charcole grey do won't show the dirt.

caringcarer · 30/12/2020 22:35

I had loads more too, Chateau book by Strawbridges, Jodi Picoult book, large box of Maltesers, excercise stretch bands, cake turntable, safari animal cookie cutters, air fresheners for my car Waterman fountain pen and gel ink pen to replace the one my dear old Dad bought me when I passed my A levels and I cried so much when it broke because my Dad is dead now and I don't have anything else he gave me. Got a nice sapphire and diamond pendant in a diamond shape and tiny sapphire stud earrings. Mr Carer did very well. Gold star ⭐ for him.

pinkphone If he's still sceptical an Oodie will keep you soooo warm. I'm wearing mine now and it's absolutely fantastic. I'm often too hot and in an old house in Scotland (ie cold even with heating on!).

HmmSureJan · 31/12/2020 12:02

@pinkphone

I wanted to buy one after reading this thread (especially as our boiler is apparently fucked and needs replacing, so it is freezing in here) but DH said no as "they are a fire hazard". Surely this is not really true?! I'm so cold... Sad
Shock

I have a read a few accounts of difficult husbands on MN over my time but this one really takes the cake. Don't listen to him! Do not deprive yourself of the wondrousness of a furry heated throw on his say so.

35andThriving · 31/12/2020 20:55

Thanks for this thread. I've been wanting to buy one! Smile

doctorboo · 31/12/2020 22:16

I’ve got one in my shopping basket. If I’m still enamoured tomorrow I’ll order it. I eyed up the dreamlands bed throw one but don’t want to spend the extra money. £40/£45 feels like enough tbh and that’s using birthday money.

BubblyBarbara · 31/12/2020 22:30

I would stay awake while being under one. They could catch on fire or give a shock.

Pawsin · 31/12/2020 22:44

Oooh I think I need one of these in my life, I have many many throws hanging around which DP endlessly moans about!! are they waterproof?? I'm very clumsy & can envision me electrocuting myself with a dropped tea 😳

glas14368 · 31/12/2020 22:47

Just bought one for my daughter for her cold uni house - before I saw this thread.

So glad that I did after seeing these comments. Confident she is going to love it.

Get a heated throw! Mine is from Argos and I wrap it around myself while working at home, it's been a game changer.
LickEmbysmiling · 11/01/2021 17:40

I think in ye oden days they would have been more of a fire risk, I'm sure small chance of remains but they are sold well made now with timers and heat settings... They are bloody gorgeous!

Phlicker · 11/01/2021 17:49

These could be the blanket equivalent of heated car seats.

MarinPrime · 11/01/2021 17:54

I love mine. I always sleep with a window open and heating off as need fresh air. The throw goes over the duvet and takes an hour or so to warm the whole bed. So comforting on a freezing night.
The bed manufacturers say not to use hot water bottles or electric blanket as could damage the memory foam, but fine to use heated throw over the duvet.

pelosi · 11/01/2021 17:57

I have a sherpa fleece that is so warm I have to throw it off after a while, I think a heated throw would be too hot for me. I am tempted by a electric hot "water" bottle though.

NCforthisconvo · 11/01/2021 18:52

I am so pleased I got mine! It’s been lovely weight and warmth wise with my current arthritis flare up.
A sweet consequence is that the children (all 3 of them) will willingly sit next to each other to share it with me.

nicky2512 · 11/01/2021 18:57

I bought Dd (18) one. She has CFS and is prone to anaemia so she’s always cold. She’s studying online (first year at uni) and has it round her all the time.
I’m able to leave it a wee bit longer before turning the heating on!
She loves it and I quite fancy one myself.

SnowyAlpaca · 11/01/2021 18:58

I've just got one today! I have the Dreamland Relaxwell furry throw from Costco (around £40 cheaper than everywhere else) and it's incredible. Very pleased!

LadyofMisrule · 11/01/2021 20:54

I got the grey Dreamland one for Xmas. I use it every day while I'm working, then put it on the bed at night. I've just bought one for my SIL too, as I've found it so amazing.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 11/01/2021 21:17

Just ordered one!
This could be a game changer for homeworking and evenings in front of the TV!
