I’ve just got one, absolutely love it. So nice to sit watching telly at night under the lovely snuggly thing. The best thing is.....so cheap to use. Anyone else have one?

I bought one last year. They're an essential item to me now. I don't even need the heating on half the time. My children have one each too.

ProperVexed · 30/12/2020 16:38

I bought 2 from Lakeland in their Black Friday deal. I sent one to my aunt who loves it. I tried mine, it was fabulous but found it too large for throwing over my knees when working from home. So I returned it. If anyone has found a small electric throw please let me know!

Sexykitten2005 · 30/12/2020 16:38

I have the Lakeland faux fur one on my sofa It’s not even turned on right now it’s so warm. I also have the dunelm teddy one on my bed and that is great for pre warming the bed. So lovely!

BashfulClam · 30/12/2020 16:38

I was so worried re washing it due to the electric bit but it worked great.

HmmSureJan · 30/12/2020 16:39

I got ours from Argos.

KarlUrbansWife · 30/12/2020 16:40

HOW am I only just hearing of this marvellous invention?! Where can I buy one, please?

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 30/12/2020 16:41

I also have a Lakeland one. I share it with the cat, and DP occasionally is allowed to use it too. We love it.

I had one of the very first ones as a gift about 8 years ago when I was in my 20s - everybody laughed at DH for buying it ‘are you married to a pensioner? Why not get her some zip up tartan bootie slippers as well?!’ Looks like I was a visionary after all 😂

Thimbleberries · 30/12/2020 16:44

Has anyone got one that is rechargable battery-powered? I don't need yet another cord to trail around, have no more spare power sockets, and it would be nice to have one that I can keep on when I moved around.

Bathroom12345 · 30/12/2020 17:28

That black one from Argos looks nice. When I brought my first one they only came in cream and brown. They don’t last forever (because I use it almost every day!). You honestly will never look back...

You can really get away with limited heating in the room when you use one.

Love electric blankets as well but that is for another thread.

WhereDoMyBluebirdsFly · 30/12/2020 17:32

I want one!

Do they have a long lead to enable it to be plugged in?

HmmSureJan · 30/12/2020 17:34

They don’t last forever (because I use it almost every day!).

You've scared me now Shock. Maybe I should buy a spare...

bloodyhairy · 30/12/2020 17:34

Yes, mine has a longish lead. Just as well really, as I'm in an old Georgian property with not enough sockets!

tartantroosers · 30/12/2020 17:37

Best thing I've bought in 2020! Mine is Dreamland soft grey from Argos as John Lewis was sold out. Brilliant to snuggle under watching tv and means I don't have to heat the whole house whilst working from home in he day.

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 30/12/2020 17:39

I bought a lovely (non electric) furry sherpa flow, which is great, especially if I use it with a wheat bag.
My cat tends to knead it a lot though, particularly when she hones in on the wheat bag bit like an Exocet missile - does anyone have problems with this?

daisypond · 30/12/2020 17:41

I got the Dreamland one for Christmas- I love it.

fitflopqueen · 30/12/2020 17:42

BashfulClam, i ordered the very same when I started work today!. We are limiting our central heating until the heating oil refill comes next Tuesday and my study is freezing, hate the fan heater as gets stuffy too quick. Should be here tomorrow.

nitgel · 30/12/2020 18:28

I love mumsnet ! I just ran put and bought one from argos and it's lovely. Thank you I need this xx

PandemicPavolova · 30/12/2020 18:36

Same I treated myself to one and its bloody brilliant.

I had to sleep downstairs with no notice as we thought dh had an unofficial covid symptom and I was glourisly warm all night.

It's such a peace of mind if the boiler goes too.
A real comfort in many ways! I got the dc some cheaper ones for Xmas

Deereamer · 30/12/2020 18:37

I got one for Christmas! I’m very much looking forward to trying it out tonight ready for next week when I’m back working in my hallway Grin

showgirl63 · 30/12/2020 18:50

I bought one for me and love it, when I can get a look in!

I bought one of my dc one for Xmas and now, after reading this thread, I want one too!

I can't find one any bigger than 130 x 160 though - has anyone seen a larger one?

loveyouradvice · 30/12/2020 20:19

Oh what a good idea - going to get one
