Is there anyone techy on here? Can't download a video for my DGM...

I have edited a little video of what the DCs got up to over Christmas on my computer to send to my DGM who lives abroad, she doesn't have a PC just relies on her phone so I was planning on sending it to her via whatsapp.
I sent it to my email via we transfer and downloaded it to my phone but it says "can't load file" when I try to open it using the little notification that pops up when the download is complete and it does not show up anywhere in my gallery or in my downloads.
It's an MP4 file video.

I did a similar video in the summertime using the same editor, same camera, the same size and format and I didn't have this issue its still on my phone in my downloads. I have over 60GB free memory on my phone so that can't be an issue. I don't know why this one isn't working and I really wanted to cheer my DGM up as she's going through lockdown.

Does anyone know what the problem might be?
I'd really appreciate some advice.

Did you try it again? I sometimes have to send things twice. Or maybe it can work from desktop whatsapp

Perhaps a file is corrupt? you should double check the video on the laptop and resend the email, ensuring you reupload the video.

If the download still doesn’t work, try one drive/iCloud drive etc or just email it to her directly

I've tried it about 10 times. I even exported the video again in lower quality format and tried that but no luck.
It's not showing anywhere on my phone. I'm really confused as it plays fine on the computer.

Try it from desktop WhatsApp

Thank you everyone. I ended up downloading the we transfer app and it saved onto there and I was able to send it from there. No idea why but thankyou for the help.

Whatsapp have a maximum file size that you can send, 16mb according to google. Your video was probably too big for the app. That is what wetransfer is good for.
