DH and BIL had a falling out before Xmas, this has happened the past few years so I decided in October to spend Xmas day with DH as he’s spent it alone the past few years after a fight, with BIL and MIL not coming to our house. I have always talked to BIL and MIL throughout these fall outs, i never wanted to be involved. This year BIL has started on me, Xmas eve and last night I have had messages of abuse from him, telling me I am contributing to his brother falling out with him- when all I have done is tell DH to sort it out, went shopping for Xmas to get vegan food for them, basically wasted a lot of my time preparing for them when it was never going to happen. Last night he told me to f* off and he will destroy me- in my opinion he is saying he’s going to try to come between me and his brother. I’m absolutely disgusted with him. Im my opinion he has nothing to destroy me with. Have told DH I’ve blocked BIL and won’t talk to him again. Are families like this? I’ve grew up in a very close knit family and I’ve never dealt with anything like this before. Any advice would be appreciated? Just so to not hold back any info we are pretty sure BIL has issues with drugs, so I think this is messing with his head
