It's a very long story, but I'm struggling to stay sane at the moment.

Any tips on staying sane? I'm hungover, so please don't suggest a walk.

Make a date with yourself.

Easy to watch movie, blanket, fluffy socks and lots of stodgy food.

Allow yourself time out!!

I haven't eaten in days. Probably part of the problem. Feel faint a lot.

Exactly what @BluebellsGreenbells said. You need to spoil yourself and absolutely do not feel guilty about it. WineCakeFlowers

Haha - thinking of rocking up to the nearest psychiatric hospital and begging to be let in lol.

Toast, loads of butter a big mug of tea and a film
Hope you feel better soon

AuntieDolly · 27/12/2020 12:42

Stop drinking and eat some food?

ProfessorInkling · 27/12/2020 12:47

You are hungover and haven’t eaten for days? Is this a cry for help? Have some toast and some water. Are you alone?

Plonque · 27/12/2020 12:51

Stop drinking and eat some food

You know this is what you need to do as you're a grown adult. No one can function on an empty tank. Heavy drinking is proven to negatively affect mood, it certainly does for me.

Spittingchestnuts · 27/12/2020 12:52

Sorry you are feeling rotten op Flowers

Agree about toast and tea. Get something solid in your stomach if you can and you will feel a bit better.

Are you by yourself? If so can you reach out for some support (Samaritans, emergency go?). You don't have to answer on here but what are you trying to avoid by drinking so much? Can you make one tiny step today towards facing the problem? It's a cliché but can you make one tiny step today towards being kinder to yourself tomorrow? Hang in there. Brew

Yep, agree with others. Tea and toast to start with. Drink as much water as you can in small amounts throughout the day. Have a long hot shower, hair wash etc. Clean pjs. Then try pasta or risotto for dinner, ideally with some protein. Try and limit the salt in your food until you rehydrate. Early night, long sleep.

I agree eating something is the priority. Booze is depressant but food even small mouthfuls can offset this, and give you the sugar you need to get your energy levels up. Without food it's easy to freefall but the good thing is you can feel better quite quickly with some small bites. Start with sweet tea if you can, maybe buttery toast with marmite or jam, I find mushroom soup or any soup easier to prep and drink than a lot of things when I'm flat. Even cup a soup. Put it in a mug and sip it. If you've got the shakes and its smooth use a straw (no joke, been there). Boiled eggs are simple and filling. Omelettes or scramble take a bit more effort but with cheese can be beautifully filling. Again takes a bit of prep but buttery mash is comforting too. Sont worry about prepping a whole meal just go for small and simple.

Definitely eat something Rudolph, not just crisps or snacks but something proper if you can, even something like a cheese sandwich would do the trick. You might think you're not hungry, especially after drinking, but I promise you'll feel so much better for some food! Drink lots of water and take a berocca if you have one x
