Googled. He broke into Paul Young's house and nicked a load of stuff. They identified him from cigarette butts he dropped on the bedroom floor.

So he smoked cigarettes in his bedroom and put them out on the floor.

Stealing stuff is one thing but that's kind of worse somehow.

I'm no fan of Gino D'Acampo, but some of the comments on this thread about his accent are awful.

Gino is hilarious however I find it very awkward watching him anymore. A while ago I watched something where the singer Paul a young was talking about his wife’s death. For those that doesn’t know Gino was a burglar and one of the properties he burgled was Paul youngs. I believe he left cigarette butts there and that’s how he was caught. Anyways, he stole a number of items including some personal effects and home videos. Now Paul Youngs wife is dead he was saying how he is devastated he will never get that back.

I’m all for second chances however it does make me uneasy Gino is lauded and given so much when he took so much from others coupled with this being in the public eye Paul and his family can never get away from him. It’s like rubbing salt in the wound I would imagine.

I do think he over eggs it a bit. Plus the 'accidental' double entendres are tiresome.

I'm sure Gino stole some irreplaceable stuff of Paul Young's wife who has now passed away. I believe he has stated how upsetting that was.

Gino seems to have become part of the extremely tiresome 'ITV family'. You know the ones, Phil, holly, and and dec, Stephen Mulhern, leigh Francis. I'm sure there are a few more names to be added there. They seem to have a monopoly of presenting or being in every ITV show.

It's boring now. It would be nice if they could make way for some fresh, new talent.

Les Dennis can't be beat as THE FF presenter.

Gino isn't likeable whatsoever. He's not amiable, or funny, or witty.

Even if he did (I was fooled by the Sheffield thing!) he wouldn’t still be talking in that stupid voice if he’d lived in England for 25 years. He’s like a pantomime dame.

A colleague is Mauritian, he moved to the UK when he was 18, he is now in his 50’s. If you learn a new language/move to an area once puberty has started you largely retain your accent, as my colleague has. I was eight when I moved to the UK, I still have a Pakistani accent with a strange mix of the odd Nottinghamshire and North London sound. There are sounds in the English language I cannot make as I wasn’t exposed to them as a young child, in the same way that many East Asians find the letter L hard to say.

Having an accent is not stupid.

As someone who isn’t a native Brit idiots taking the piss out of your accent is not only far too common its also really xenophobic, I’m always amazed by how many people think its acceptable.

Well, you’ve missed the point by a mile. Which is, his manner of speaking has little in common with the way in which an Italian person would really speak English and everything to do with mugging for the camera.

Don’t try to turn this into a boo hoo fest about posters on this thread disliking foreigners. That is ridiculous. I have no doubt that English-speaking Italian viewers are embarrassed by him.

I couldn’t disagree more. I find him absolutely hilarious on FF. I have never seen him on anything else, but I love him on it. He doesn’t take himself that seriously, and I think his comebacks to the contestants are really spot on usually. He also seems to care about whether they win or not. He is a much better host than I imagined he would be.

I like Vernon as a presenter-way more than Gino D'Campo, but not as much as Rylan.
