Butter is overrated.

Tenyearsgone · 26/12/2020 18:36

I prefer Clover spread to real butter.

LoudBatPerson · 26/12/2020 18:38

I think salted butter has a taste, not so much unsalted. I find unsalted rather bland and always buy salted. I do not personally like margarines and choose proper butter every time.

I do find that most sea salted varieties seem to have too little salt to give the taste. The larger salt particles do not seem to seasons the whole block, hence the lack of taste.

I suppose butter has less flavour because it isn't butter flavoured. You know like chicken flavoured crisps don't taste like actual chicken, but stronger and more savoury.

Hoppinggreen · 26/12/2020 18:40

Up to you but I love butter (as my arse will attest to), can’t stand any kind of non butter spread

AriesTheRam · 26/12/2020 18:41

Nothing better than clover etc on crackers with cheese or on a hot jacket spud Smile

Unsalted butter has no taste at all.

OhBaublesBaubles · 26/12/2020 18:44

PegasusReturns · 26/12/2020 18:45

There are many things I could move without but butter is not one of them.

Real butter makes everything better

DustyMaiden · 26/12/2020 18:45

Anchor butter only

DressingGownofDoom · 26/12/2020 18:45

You like what you like but butter definitely has a strong (and delicious) taste to me.

YABU

Butter is a beautiful foodstuff

00100001 · 26/12/2020 19:00

Depends on the butter

Chicchicchicchiclana · 26/12/2020 19:02

Yabu. Butter is like a little bit of magic.

MrsGrindah · 26/12/2020 19:06

Butter . Salt. Cream. Fat.

These are the things that make food delicious ( and why I’m overweight)

AiryFairyMum · 26/12/2020 19:07

It depends what you're used to. I never buy margarine so it smells and tastes like engine oil to me. But if you're used to it, I'm sure it's fine.
