Biting your mouth makes you angrier than hurting any other part of your body

Why does biting my mouth make me so (fleetingly) angry. Is it just me? Am I just an angry person? Stubbing toe or walking on lego or a plug probably next on the list but nowhere near the same level.

YADNBU!!!

😂😂😂

MaskingForIt · 26/12/2020 11:15

Hitting my head makes me (briefly) very angry. I feel anger more than pain. Maybe biting your mouth is just your thing?

AtlasPine · 26/12/2020 11:17

I always shout at the corners of cupboard which leap up and hit me on the forehead. Then I shake my fist towards heaven and yell ‘do your worst, go on!’

So no, I disagree.

SpaceRaiders · 26/12/2020 11:19

Biting it multiple times after the first incident makes me even angrier.

Ifailed · 26/12/2020 11:23

Disagree, your mouth is full of saliva which contains opiorphin, a pain killer 6 x stronger than morphine. Whilst a bite to the tongue or the inside of the cheek hurts initially the pain quickly goes away.

TheOtherMaryBerry · 26/12/2020 11:23

Oh god, I hate it. It makes me furious. I do it all the time. I think it makes me so angry because it happens when I'm doing something I love so much! It feels like being betrayed by wonderful food.

tinglymint · 26/12/2020 11:24

Burning my fingers under hot water by accident makes me rage!!

SatsumasOrClementines · 26/12/2020 11:24

Getting something I’m wearing caught on a door handle as I walk past it makes me SO angry.

Happened twice yesterday and I actually had to take a moment to calm down 😂

YippeeKayakOtherBuckets · 26/12/2020 11:24

I have to disagree. I broke my little toe on the corner of a chair a few christmases ago and I’ve never felt rage like it before or since.

Coldhandscoldheart · 26/12/2020 11:26

Stood on a hatchimal earlier, had to stop myself chucking them all in the bin. Worse than Lego.

Stygimoloch · 26/12/2020 11:26

It makes me furious beyond belief too! And also the instant certainty that you’ll do it again and it’ll cause pain when eating for the next couple of days. It’s very unfair!

Sgtmajormummy · 26/12/2020 11:35

Stubbing your toe is a bad’un.
Not helped by DC laughing at you because you’re hopping around like something from a Tom&Jerry cartoon.

Sgtmajormummy · 26/12/2020 11:38

I often say it takes five minutes to get over the jangling shock of pricking myself with an extra sharp quilting pin.
And I do it every ten minutes...

Fudgefeet · 26/12/2020 11:39

I disagree, stubbing my toe an turn me into the hulk!

Bookworming · 26/12/2020 11:43

YANBU and why is it that once you've bitten it that you do it again and again!

maureenfrombarnsley · 26/12/2020 11:47

You are 💯 right! It gives me genuinely murderous rage for a good few seconds.

CounsellorTroi · 26/12/2020 11:51

Barking my shins on the coffee table makes me furious.

ikltownofboothlehem · 26/12/2020 12:05

Catching sleeves on doors or banging my elbow is rage inducing. I've broken my toes so many times it's practically routine now. Hmm

ikltownofboothlehem · 26/12/2020 12:05

Sorry the sarky face was to myself, not anyone on here!

Michaelbaubles · 26/12/2020 12:07

Hitting my head makes me roar - I can’t help it, it’s like a real primal rage. Especially if it’s on the tailgate of the car when I’ve been bending down to put something in the boot. Or an open cupboard door after putting dishes away. I think it’s partly because it nearly always happens when you’re doing a job, and it’s like being punished for doing something good.

the80sweregreat · 26/12/2020 12:16

Hitting my elbow or head is also bad or the little toe! I have a low pain threshold though !

Jennygentle · 26/12/2020 12:18

Hitting my head makes me livid; I think it’s because it feels like a deliberate assault somehow.

the80sweregreat · 26/12/2020 12:20

I'm so clumsy though ( probably have dyspraxia but undiagnosed) and always dropping things
I'm so uncoordinated I drive the family mad. Had to learn not to be.
I've damaged my hand and foot by falling over in the past too.
Other people just seem so much more together than me.
I hate being this way

NameChangeUnwiseAdvice · 26/12/2020 12:21

YABU.

I was once rushing to get into my car on a really busy road and managed to bang my car door into my ear. I genuinely thought I was going to be sick from the pain it was hideous.

TheFootIsDown · 26/12/2020 15:31

I don't get it with my mouth but hitting me head enrages me!
