neighbours are blaring their music with vibrating bass in their kitchen/dining room, which ajoins our kitchen/dining room. meaning we will be eating christmas dinner next to the sound of their bass as our music cant cover it.

AIBU to not expect this on christmas day? i am so sick of it - why are people so selfish? listen to your christmas songs loud and enjoy your day by all means, but don't subject us to your bass when you know we are stuck indoors all day!! i am so fed up of people being so selfish all the time

YANBU. It's not nye you know people will be sitting down to a nice meal and won't want to hear your crappy base!

My partner went and asked them to turn the bass down - after 5 minutes of knocking they only heard once he banged on the window - and it's still just as loud - I have put white noise on to try and cover it and I'm on the other side of the house and I can still hear it over the TV. We're going to have to eat Christmas dinner in the living room on our laps - I'm so so angry and fed up, he's just put music on loud to try and cover it but I'm sick of it I don't want to have to listen to blaring music on Christmas day

That's awful, and they are so selfish. Would you be able to go round again and say look, you're ruining our Christmas because all we can hear is you, in our own home. Can you please just turn the bass down if not the music. Easier said than done though I know!

My neighbours (a couple) had yet another of their screaming, expletive filled arguments at 3 am this morning and are having another one now. It's just so depressing having to sit indoors and listen to it. They are both as awful as each other (no abuse here) and are both sweet, butter- wouldn't-melt people when you see them. I'm so close to sending a really vile hateful humiliating text message listing all the very personal stuff we can all hear and telling them to shut the fuck up on Christmas Day at least. I will try to be good and not send it!

Just keep going round?

Noise complaints and laws still apply on Christmas Day, and the police might respond?

Do they own or rent? You would at least be able to start with the landlord if they do rent
