Any other fails so far?! My mince pies are also a crumbly mess and I forgot to get the stuff for the bread sauce that I was boasting to everyone that I’d be making 😳🤣

Soak them in alcohol and nobody will notice (obviously not for the children Wink)

RumJerrySailorRum · 24/12/2020 21:11

Ah, I've fucked up my Ham.

Did the first part in the slow cooker, forgot to set the timer and I've overcooked the bloody thing.

Tastes nice but it's more like pulled pork than the lovely ham I was sooooo looking forward to!

HeronLanyon · 24/12/2020 21:12

Prick all over and pour some kind of caramel sauce or thick alcoh/fruit/syrup etc. Or serve with soft vanilla ice cream.

My chocolate crinkle cookies turned out great (very fudgey! Sorry!) But my first attempt at shortbread may be my last...

Also I'm ready to murder DH. I'm doing the cooking tomorrow for the first time, it's normally DH. I have created a spreadsheet with timings. All he had to do was peel the potatoes and cut up the carrots. He had to do 2 lots of potatoes because he fucked it up and made them too small for my roasties and then didn't do enough for leftovers. WTF?!?! No leftover roasties??

I asked him to prep the stuffing he likes so I can bung it in the oven tomorrow instead he's decided to cook the ham. Which is on my spreadsheet to be cooked tomorrow. I'm drinking wine.

Not Xmas but I missed my train stop twice in one day because of bleedin' mumsnet!

NotMeNoNo · 24/12/2020 21:28

I've spent ££'s on failed brownies and recently discovered the Cadbury packet mix is very good. Other fails I fear are lying in wait for tomorrow.

RedWineLlps · 24/12/2020 22:32

I pre cooked my Christmas ham tonight and dropped it while removing it from the oven. Oven dish smashed on the floor,. The ham now has shards of the ceramic dish poking out of it making it look like some kind of delicious but hazardous hedgehog.

proudbrows · 24/12/2020 23:08

@RedWineLlps I think you win the epic fails with that one!!!!

My gingerbread was slightly over baked today but that was DS's fault. Mumsnet was to blame for the slightly over done pizza last night.

danadas · 24/12/2020 23:49

Tonight Father Christmas and his reindeer will be welcomed to our house with a Guylian chocolate and yellow pepper.

I forgot carrots and mince pies....

ErrolTheDragon · 25/12/2020 00:07

I'm sure Santa and the reindeer will appreciate the change. They must be sick of mince pies and carrots before they're halfway round.

BethHarmon · 25/12/2020 00:18

Gingerbread biscuits managed to get themselves completely and utterly stuck to the baking tray. Managed to prize a few off whole but half of them ended up a broken crumbly mess.
I think I had the oven on too high. And I did grease the baking sheet but I usually use parchment & not sure why I didn’t.

Oh and just after I’d finished clearing up all the hundreds & thousands that DS dropped, I knocked over half a tube of silver balls! They’re still all over the kitchen floor as I asked DH if he could clear them up.

FanSpamTastic · 25/12/2020 00:19

I haven't iced my Christmas cake. Have all the stuff - just didn't have time!

Titsywoo · 25/12/2020 00:32

I was fucking around on the internet and left my ham in the oven too long. The glaze is perfect at the back but the front inch is burnt which is a bugger.
