Just that really.

I posted my test back on Sunday evening so would have picked up on Monday morning. I don’t know if the home tests go to - normal local lab or a dedicated home test facility (and I’m an idiot who didn’t pay attention to the label on the box)...

Is the waiting time significantly worse than a walk or drive through test? Anybody done a home test in London this week?

Been a little bit but it goes to a dedicated lab in areas for processing hence the need to post in specific post boxes

My friend posted her test back last Thursday afternoon and got her results by text late Monday afternoon. Home Counties

MajorBumsore · 23/12/2020 19:23

I sent mine back last post on Saturday. Got the results about 2pm yesterday. Negative thankfully

UrghThisIsHard · 23/12/2020 19:29

Thanks, all. Sounds like I should hopefully have them tomorrow.

My husband did home test which he posted Sunday, I had an actual test at a drive through centre and my husband had results yesterday yet I am still waiting !

endingintiers · 23/12/2020 22:52

Posted Sunday, came through on email this afternoon. London.

Violetroselily · 23/12/2020 23:07

I'm in SE London and tested last week.

Posted Thursday AM, delivered Thursday night. Result on Sunday morning.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 23/12/2020 23:10

I’m SE London too, posted my test Sunday (post was collected at 3.15pm), got the result this morning (negative, thank god!)

UrghThisIsHard · 24/12/2020 00:01

Appreciate all the input. Sounds like because I missed the post on Sunday, tomorrow aligns with these. Fingers crossed!

Kelly, your husband’s turned around fast! Hope you get yours soon.

Hope all of you were negative - or at least only mildly afflicted. Smile

Drive through test Tuesday afternoon, results this morning.

eurochick · 24/12/2020 07:48

When I did a home test we had to put it in the post box just before the last collection time for that postbox. I'm surprised by all the people posting theirs on a Sunday when there are no collections anywhere I have ever lived.

dingdang · 24/12/2020 07:50

Also SE London - did home tests Thursday last week collected Thursday lunchtime and results received on Sunday

TrishG · 24/12/2020 08:02

SE London - our home tests went to Glasgow for processing in Monday evenings post. We’ve received 3 of the 4 results back over the last 6 hours. 2 neg and 1 needing redoing. Just trying to find a test centre on Xmas Eve that isn’t 45 mins away if I can.

CherryRoulade · 24/12/2020 08:05

We do weekly testing for work. Results timing very variable from about 48 hours to 5 days.
It’s not complicated but a few staff seem to struggle with basic instructions- probably didn’t watch enough Blue Peter to help with them putting the box together.

Pinkflipflop85 · 24/12/2020 08:52

If you didn't put it in a priority post box before the collection time for that day then you may have an invalid test.

dingdang · 24/12/2020 10:19

Yes that's a good point. We were isolating due to school bubble bursting so arranged courier to collect tests.

Pinkdelight3 · 24/12/2020 10:42

SE London. Posted test on Saturday (in priority box), results back Monday. Impressed!

UrghThisIsHard · 24/12/2020 19:31

Reporting in to say I got mine at around 9am!

@eurochick The post in priority boxes is being collected 7 days a week during the pandemic. I posted it on a Sunday night expecting it get picked up on a Monday morning. Not sure why that’s strange?

@Pinkflipflop85 Your test wouldn’t be invalid that quickly. The buffer in the vial preserves your swab until it gets tested.

@CherryRoulade Ha! The box wasn’t great but I managed to wrangle it into shape! Grin
