That way when people turn up at the hospital needing access to doctors and equipment, the NHS could see whether or not someone had been following guidelines. The covidiots that haven't could be bumped to the back of the queue for everything.

Is it true that cases are rising because people won’t follow the rules?

Or is it more likely that cases are rising because it’s a new more contagious strain of the virus, and it’s peak virus season, and lots of people still have to go to work (particularly in hospitals), and spreading is what viruses do? Do you know what proportion of cases are thought to be acquired in hospital? It’s pretty high.

Why do you need to have someone to blame? Does it make you feel superior?

Just do it for members of the Conservative Party. They are responsible for thousands of avoidable deaths, as they chose Boris Johnson instead of alternative candidates who would have acted more quickly in March and September.

I was thinking the other day that this is all the fault of the unions who elected Ed Miliband rather than David. I think it changed the whole course of British history.

If David had been elected as Labour leader rather than ‘Red Ed’ in autumn 2010, I think David Cameron would have lost the 2015 election - or at least wouldn’t have won an outright majority. We then wouldn’t have had the Brexit referendum, and Boris wouldn’t have been able to climb his way to the top of the party as a result.

Op if you or your immediate family are vulnerable then stay locked inside. Let the rest of us make our own decisions based on our circumstances and risk.
The virus is not fatal for 95.5% of us so probably better to lock away those who are vulnerable.

Only if obese people or people with an unhealthy lifestyle don’t get treated for related ailments either.

Why don’t we just cull the entire population so that nobody will die from Covid?

SirSamuelVimes · 23/12/2020 11:36

Oh do fuck off dear.

@FromEden

Oh Jesus! That's so ridiculous it's actually quite funny.

Eh, I was joking! Just running with the theme of the OP, lol. Its a sad indictment of the times that it actually could be a genuine post at this stage though.

Sorry FromEden, I did think it might be sarcasm, but honestly, its hard to tell on here at the moment, and at that time in the morning my brain isn't quite engaged 😂

I would just like to point out that a vast majority of the population is already being tracked. So people should get off their high horse fast.
Google, Apple, any fitness tracker, running app, etc. They all have your data. Just by having a phone you are always tracked by some company or another.
What some people have been saying is that if this data is already there, why aren't we using it for public health purposes? But at this point -beyond any reason or logic- people become so protective of the data they voluntarily shared and now have no control over that it is ridiculous.

Apparently in parts of China government cameras with facial recognition technology cover both the front and back doors of every home, governments computers know literally every single time you exit your house. (A Russian I know told me Russia is also using facial recognition cameras to catch Covid rule-breakers.)

Good luck on the face-recognition when I am wearing my mask!

TheSunIsStillShining · 23/12/2020 15:51

face recognition works with markers. These are not limited to around the mouth and nose markers. Though it is less reliable, but it still possible to do facial recognition based on the upper part of the face.
Unless you wear a mask and a hoodie deep into your face, from a technology standpoint you are recognizable.

Also recognition softwares can run on multiple things, like gait, posture, height, .... face is the most effective and easiest to code though.

I don't think this would meet the testa set out in the latest case on recognition and thus would be unlawful www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-53734716:

"It said there was no clear guidance on where AFR Locate could be used and who could be put on a watchlist, a data protection impact assessment was deficient and the force did not take reasonable steps to find out if the software had a racial or gender bias."

Good plan. If I fall off my horse I should be left to die on the road too. Because that would be my fault
