to ask the boy who is now a man who smashed my front teeth out when I was nine to pay for the dental work I now need?

I know I'm being unreasonable.

But I really, really would love to present him with a bill for it.

cheers hunks. yes it is uncanny. although i think i looked a lot like PI at 13...

AitchTwoOh · 24/10/2007 00:50

oh i see, oh, more thnaks then.

MeltingandScreamingIcarus · 24/10/2007 00:53

Ahem er no.

Original damage when 10. Freeeeee treatment for howling at 13.

Replacements at erm 33. They just happened to need it when i was pregnant.

MeltingandScreamingIcarus · 24/10/2007 00:55

I think there was an increased gap between the gum and the top of the crown. Naturally the veneers seemed to have the same problem.

Before that the colour match was absolutely crap and I hated smiling.

hunkermunker · 24/10/2007 01:01

How utterly bonkers to be sitting talking to other women who have had similar teeth experiences to myself at 1am on t'internet.

Aitch, I think I was also rather resembling PI at 13...

even more oddly, only today i was comparing two casts of my (wealthy) friend's teeth and deciding whether she could get away with two new ones or veneers across the four at the front. now that's a strange moment in a friendship, i don't know my own mouth as well as i now know hers.

hunkermunker · 24/10/2007 01:08

of wealthy friend (for having money to have dental choices, not because you know her mouth intimately, you understand).

AitchTwoOh · 24/10/2007 01:13

actually, she hardly needs the work done but because of the inordinate amount of teasing she endured as a young girl because she had one, yes, one buck tooth she is obsessed with her teeth being perfect. she is also, she realised today (i was doing a bit of a Dr Phil) petrified of falling over because of the terrible day when she tripped and snapped the buck tooth off.

Oprah wouldn't snigger, would she?

hunkermunker · 24/10/2007 01:14

at "snapped the buck tooth off" that sounds like a Roger McGough poem

AitchTwoOh · 24/10/2007 01:16

yes, well i imagine her vast income insulates her against the sound of our jeering.

hunkermunker · 24/10/2007 01:17

Yes, it will, I'm sure of it. Now come and talk to TR with me on t'other thread if you're up for a bit.

one buck tooth?

AitchTwoOh · 24/10/2007 01:19

i've just given her the benefit of my wisdom (it was a short post) but now must go to bed.

hunkermunker · 24/10/2007 01:19

Night, Aitch

OP posts:
AitchTwoOh · 24/10/2007 01:19

oh hang on, PI's back and she's jeering, i'm here for the night.

I am supposedly tidying before my cleaner comes tomorrow - well today.

I think I am going to have to hit the sheets though.

MeltingandScreamingIcarus · 24/10/2007 01:39

I wonder whether we could link a liking for late nights and pre-teen tooth trauma.

hunkermunker · 24/10/2007 01:41

I think there's something in that, PI... They should do A Study.

Indeed

Bump for daytime dentally challenged folk (and their gleamy enamelled counterparts).

LittleMissNervoustWitch · 24/10/2007 11:43

i recently had dental work done to my front tooth which had died and gone yellow due to an ex bf punching me in the mouth about 15 years ago! it cost me an arm an a leg!!....if your going to charge the boy who accidently dropped you when giving you the bumps then im sending my ex the bill for mine! good idea, thanks!

TwigorTreat · 24/10/2007 11:45

yes hunker YABU

he was 9 and not responsible even if it had not been an accident he would not have been responsible because he was a child

sorry

but you can vent your spleen on him .. that's ok

Wisteria · 24/10/2007 11:47

hunkermunker, exactly that happened to me!! - did you land on the metal bit in the middle? I did and the bloodstains were there for years!

Except it was my bro's godfather who did it to me - I lost 3 front teeth and have recently had to pay for new ones - , wouldn't have the heart to send a bill though as it was an accident and I'll never forget the look on his face as he took me back to my parents...

hunkermunker · 24/10/2007 11:50

LittleMiss, do it for your punch in the mouth though - nasty.

Twig, I know!

Wisteria, seesaws are horrible things, aren't they?!
