AIBU or should the song “Boris Johnson is a f c*” be banned from Amazon Music/iTunes/the charts/Christmas number one?

Whatever your political views might be, surely this shouldn’t be allowed?

OP posts:
ImnotCarolineHirons · 21/12/2020 11:10

Of course it should be allowed. One because we live in a (sort of) democracy with freedom of speech (ish) and two, because he is.

nosswith · 21/12/2020 11:10

I'd like one of the charity records to be Christmas number one, btw.

insancerre · 21/12/2020 11:13

There is a version that says Boris Johnson is a sausage roll
I have seen kunt perform live and the sibglebis quite tame by comparison
I would love it to get to number one

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 21/12/2020 11:23

They need to put some sleigh bells in the background.

MassiveSalad · 21/12/2020 11:25

He is a fucking cunt though.

MassiveSalad · 21/12/2020 11:26

Yes I would download it if there were sleigh bells.

PrincessNutNutRoast · 21/12/2020 11:26

The people downloading this are probably the same ones that were telling everyone to 'Be Kind'.

What's your evidence of this?

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 21/12/2020 11:29

It’s a fun song about a terrible prime minister.

“Jesus died of a Stranglewank” is a better musical number though.

Lazypuppy · 21/12/2020 11:36

I think its hilarious. Shame they didn't make it more christmassy!

insancerre · 21/12/2020 11:41

They do have a more Christmassy song
Killed a kid at Christmas
I won’t link as some might find it offensive

Roominmyhouse · 21/12/2020 11:41

I find George Ezra offensive. Does that mean we can ban his music too?

OhWhyNot · 21/12/2020 11:43

We have a long history of insulting our politicians through art

Because we have three freedom to do so

That is something to celebrate!

GlitchStitch · 21/12/2020 11:46

[quote Ponoka7]Unless it comes under a hate speech or malicious communications act, then it shouldn't be banned. It's less clever than some of the other ones, so I'm not keen on it. I quite like this one that's doing the rounds.

I love this one, it's so clever.

maddiemookins16mum · 21/12/2020 12:00

Never knew this existed but it’s pathetic and childish (and I say that as someone living in Kent, having to go to an office because I cannot WFH and am surrounded by gridlocked roads due to Operation Stack). I’m no Boris fan.

goodwinter · 21/12/2020 12:03

Yes it's pathetic and childish. That's not exactly grounds for a ban though.

PrincessNutNutRoast · 21/12/2020 12:17

It's not trying to be clever and satirical; that's part of the joke. It's from the "you're not worth that level of effort and I'm going to show my contempt by lowering the tone all around you and not even trying to be clever for you" school of attack.

HitthatroadJack · 21/12/2020 12:35

YABU

Whilst I do find it completely inappropriate, I do not want to live in a country who censor what we are allowed to sing or laugh at.

Mocking a political figure doesn't qualify as bullying.

FeelsLikeGroundhogDay · 21/12/2020 12:35

I've seen Kunt and the gang live before, Kunt really is a lovely guy. If your offended by this song for the love of god dont listen to any of his others Grin

He really is. I went to a concert with a terminally ill friend who loved his songs and he was so good to us. The song was just a joke but its so true
