Hi, just wondered if anyone had any similar experiences? Never had any problems before. Paid £30 for delivery today of a new fridge freezer. Just moved in. My Xmas shopping is coming tomorrow morning.

I was tracking my delivery today then it went offline for 3 hours. It finally came back on and was an hour after my slot. It said they were 2 deliveries away. Great. The driver then rang and said he'd be there in 10 minutes, I said, no worries we were in waiting. Dh opens up garage, lights on, moves car. We are out the front of house/sitting in front window. Fifteen minutes later the call centre ring and say they tried to deliver but we didn't answer! I said that was complete rubbish as we were there waiting. The call centre say they have a photograph as proof. I asked what the photo showed. It was a different door and different car on drive. The driver would not come back. The call centre did not give two shits. Its coming on Wednesday apparently. Call centre now shut.

I'm absolutely stunned that this is ok. The blatant lies and ineptitude. What happens with my Xmas shopping? What about the delivery charge? Will they believe it's not my house? Anyone experienced anything similar?

No problems here.

My new fridge was delivered by them on time this morning. The only difficulty was manoeuvring it to the utility room but I certainly wasn't going to pay them an extra £30 for moving it 15 ft!

I've always had excellent service from them and they even took away an old appliance free of charge when I changed my mind and asked them to as they were delivering the replacement.

I'd be making a fuss tomorrow and wanting a much quicker delivery than Wednesday

What a pain!!!! Log a complaint , once they deliver they will see the house the photo where they supposedly tried delivering was not the right address and ask for the delivery fee to be returned.

slipperywhensparticus · 20/12/2020 21:55

I would be on the phone in the morning with photos of your house frontage at the ready

That’s not great 😕 I have to say I’ve had nothing but good service from AO. Must have been driver went to wrong address presumably? Would suggest giving them a ring back tomorrow, they are generally great over the phone and hopefully they can sort something out ASAP

Twitter. Always Twitter.

I didn't realise that AO were the old appliances online!
I've recently used them and thought the customer serwas excellent.
Sorry you had a bad experience op

Why didn't the delivery guy ring me when he got to this random address?? He's literally just spoken to me! Sounds like he was really behind and just took it back to the warehouse.

Tweet them. It’s the only thing that works

After having a horrendous experience with AO and their call centre not giving a shit, despite my ringing them for 2 weeks, I resorted to posting very sarcastically on Instagram and tagging them in. Within an hour AO rang me, arranged a replacement and gave me £140 compensation.

Previously I had bought from them with no problems at all. But I found that as soon as something went wrong they were absolutely awful.

Hope you get it sorted soon OP.

We had one delivery of a fridge freezer from ao during the first lockdown which went well. However we had a similar experience with dpd, except they took the time to take a photo of our house and then left without coming to the door. I had tracked their van to our road, saw a dpd van drive past and then nothing despite hovering by the front door. The following day they attempted delivery again, but couldn't find it on the van apparently. Delivery man said he would go back to depot to get it. Depot was 30 minutes away. Came back 15 minutes later with our microwave, looking very sheepish, so it must have been on the van after all. That was my worst appliance delivery experience

I spoke to a lovely man this morning and it's coming tomorrow first thing. Refunded delivery. There was no room today. I feel much better than I did last night. Just the whole random photo of a house etc, the complete lying cos he was four hours behind schedule. Fingers crossed.
