So we can all see whether we need to buy any more???? Wink

I wrote out a list of the foods I had on another thread and then wondered, is it too much? Too little? Have I missed anything I can still buy???

So come and indulge, and share what you have...

I have:

Cocktail sausages, pigs in blankets, smoked salmon and cream cheese to make canapés, duck spring rolls, filo prawns, chicken satay skewers, an eighteen piece oriental selection...

For cheese board I have

Barber’s cruncher cheddar, cheddar with truffle, Red Leicester, conte, (we don’t like soft cheese), then I have ritz crackers, carrs melts, grapes, apples, red onion chutney....

I have no party food yet, as we will be having that on NYE, though am road testing some bits from waitrose as I type (coquilles st jacques and lobster vol au vents, wont be rebuying either).
Cheese wise we have a box of Jacob's crackers and some other ones, Paul or Peter something or other, they are grey anyway! I've got wensleydale with cranberries, blue d'affinois, brie de meaux, a smoked cheese, some manchego and a bit of Mexicana. Have membrillo, need figs, grapes and celery and ideally some Caerphilly.

CrunchyNutNC · 20/12/2020 17:44

9 tins of Quality Street, 2 tins Celebrations, 5 boxes M&S cracker selection and approx 12 kg assorted cheeses. Oh and 250 frozen sausage rolls.

Fortunately we'd always been planning a quiet one-household Christmas so I'm not carrying any surplus Xmas Grin

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 20/12/2020 17:46

Absolutely nothing; I'm not permitted to nibble Sad

AlternativePerspective · 20/12/2020 17:46

Oh yes, I’d forgotten we have some Wensleydale with cranberries as well...

And some olives

I have some pringles, a small box of quality street, some prawn dim sum, and some mini sausage rolls. I was expecting to be with my family for some of the main Christmas period so my stash is woefully insufficient.

AlternativePerspective · 20/12/2020 17:50

@ OrangeGinLemonFanta there’s still time Wink the supermarkets are open late every night....

Not bought anything as yet. Will grab some odds and ends later in the week. It’s just me and my eldest this year and our main plan is to sleep the week away.

feliznavidad2 · 20/12/2020 17:58

Went to M&S earlier as having party food on Xmas eve - bought mozzarella sticks, little burger sliders, pork tacos and mini pizzas... and pigs in blankets. 😋

OrangeGinLemonFanta · 20/12/2020 17:58

I'll be hitting up Tesco in the wee hours this week. Need a ham as well, seeing as I won't be getting to eat my mum's Christmas ham.

MaverickDanger · 20/12/2020 18:15

Oh god far too much, especially for two people. A lot of it will either freeze or be long life.

I’m due any day now so it’s a combo of all the food I’ve missed while being pregnant, Christmas food & needing newborn snacks/easy to eat party food!

8 bags of crisps including Pringles and Doritos
3 tubs of mini cheddars
Breadsticks
Two boxes of crackers
6 packs of Hovis biscuits for cheese
10 different types of cheese
Popcorn
Quality Street tin
2x selection boxes
4 Terry’s chocolate oranges
Sweet chilli rice crackers
Tons of frozen party food
72 piece oriental platter to collect on Christmas Eve Grin

After Eights
Turkish Delight
Mince pies, although I need to make another batch if Santa's going to want one
If I get chance to go to the health food shop there'll be garlic sticks
Pringles - salt and vinegar. I drank too much wine and devoured the sour cream and chive ones last night, while DH hit the biscuits.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 20/12/2020 18:20

When do you eat all this stuff?

Dillo10 · 20/12/2020 18:21

I am picking up my m&s order on Christmas Eve, which was meant to be my contribution towards Christmas at my mum's (obviously not happening now)... So DH and I will be sharing:

1kg of prawn cocktail, an large pork pie and 24 pigs in blankets...!

Planning to buy some M&S party food, cheese and crackers, pringles, smoked salmon blinis etc and snack on everything over a few days

IHaveBrilloHair · 20/12/2020 18:22

Mainly cheese around 13 types.

DrWAnkenstein · 20/12/2020 18:27

@JayAlfredPrufrock
Christmas hols are generally a snack festival. Any actual meals are huge and last ages so lots of nibbles required for those in-between times Xmas Grin.

MaverickDanger · 20/12/2020 18:29

I don’t eat proper meals for a good week between 24th-31st (much to DH’s annoyance) so that’s when all the snacks and party food gets eaten! As well as leftover turkey etc.

Haffiana · 20/12/2020 18:38

Smoked salmon, truffle cheddar, truffle brie, a Heston Christmas pudding with balsamic vinegar in it (hope it is nice!!) and some chocolates.

doctorhamster · 20/12/2020 18:43

So far I have much cheese and many crisps. I'm really struggling with how much to buy as we would normally host at least 2 get togethers between Christmas Eve and New Years Eve but this year it's just the 4 of us.
