AIBU to eat this Christmas food??

Did a big shop yesterday and got EVERYTHING - huge turkey, all the meat blah blah blah.
It wouldn’t fit in the fridge, so when I unloaded yesterday afternoon I turned on the garage fridge and left it to cool. I put it all the food together in a closed cool bag and left it in a cold shed.

I then forgot all about it until 9 this morning.

It’s still cold to touch. I can’t afford more it cost nearly £150 with the turkey. I doubt I’d even get it all again, the shops will be rammed.

Would you still eat it!? So far it’s a unanimous yes from everyone I’ve asked in person.

YABU - I wouldn’t eat the food
YANBU - eat the food

Thanks!

I’d eat it. Especially if you’re in the UK where it was fridge temperature overnight last night.

Nottherealslimshady · 20/12/2020 09:59

It was 4 degrees here last night, same temperature as a fridge. So yeah I'd say it's perfectly fine.

Thehogfatherstolemycurry · 20/12/2020 09:59

Why would you not eat it?
It'll have been really cold overnight in the garage.

CatVsChristmasTree · 20/12/2020 10:00

Yeah I'd eat that with no worries at all.

Nowaynothappening · 20/12/2020 10:02

It’s almost freezing over night now so I really wouldn’t worry about this and would definitely eat it. Don’t forget that 70 years ago fridges didn’t exist, people survived.

bestbefore · 20/12/2020 10:03

We always keep our turkey in the garage!

helloxhristmas · 20/12/2020 10:04

Absolutely useless you're going to drop in that you live in Dubai for somewhere equally warm 😂

Scarby9 · 20/12/2020 10:04

It will be absolutely fine.

OhioOhioOhio · 20/12/2020 10:05

I'd eat it unless it was stinking when I opened it.

Morana23 · 20/12/2020 10:07

It will be fine if it's been in cold garage - we would.

CottonSock · 20/12/2020 10:08

My mum kept the turkey in the car for a day or two every year

QuantumJump · 20/12/2020 10:09

We always keep our turkey in the garage as it doesn't fit in the fridge.

Roussette · 20/12/2020 10:09

Why on earth would you not eat it?

Your garage would be the equivalent of a fridge last night

ShrikeAttack · 20/12/2020 10:12

We were having a big party once and farmer friends of ours brought a slaughtered pig down that lived in our bath for two days until it was time to cook it. You'll be fine!

Littlelapwing · 20/12/2020 10:13

Thank you SO MUCH - I am a bit funny about off food, whereas my husband will eat 10 day out of date sausages and be fine, so if he says ‘it’s fine’ I don’t always just trust to that..! 😂
But also if I go ‘urgh yuck no!’ I can’t always trust to that either!

It will be fine. It will have been kept as if its in a walk in fridge if it was in your garage

Oblomov20 · 20/12/2020 10:28

It'll all be fine. Stop worrying.

KarlKennedysDurianFruit · 20/12/2020 13:22

I made a nigella pudding yesterday with double cream that got left in the boot of car for nearly 24 hours, we're all still alive, it's pretty cold out, eat the food.

QuestionableMouse · 20/12/2020 13:25

I broke into six pints of milk that I'd left in the car overnight. It was really cold and absolutely fine.

Lou98 · 20/12/2020 13:29

Our fridge was broken for 2 weeks last week so we were keeping everything just in a cool bag outside and everything was absolutely fine. I'm a bit like you with not eating anything after use by dates etc but I would definitely still eat it
