I am 47 with youngish kids- eldest is 12 but life is getting easier and for the first time in a really long time, I have a tiny bit of mental space to think about myself & what I want going forward.

Sometimes I feel like I want a revolution- to start again somewhere new and make some new friends, see a new horizon etc. I have lived in my current town for 20 plus years etc. I have travelled a lot in my youth & would like to do some more.

Aibu to ask about your mid life revolutions- life feels stale (obviously we are in a pandemic so that isn’t helping) and I would like a change sometime in the next few years! To learn new stuff & meet new people!

What did you do? I’d love some inspiration!

Great idea for a thread thank you. I am 51 and have also been thinking about this (single parent to three teens - youngest is 14, eldest 19 but still at school).

Will follow with interest 😊.

I have a sport I’ve done for thirty years. Have now decided I’ll actually try and get good at it!

Pole dancing. Find the right studio and it’s amazing, so much fun and so liberating.

I’m 49 and this was me last year, I wanted to do some new things, branch out, so I volunteered with a charity to help out at music festivals, two friends said they’d join me, we booked our places and bought a tent, then lockdown came. So obviously no festivals, we are now looking forward to something happening next year?! I also joined a ladies Facebook cycling group which has been good fun, when we can do it that is. I also plan to volunteer for Brownies or Guides when it’s allowed again.

Thanks for the ideas so far- I really want to meet some new people in 2021 if it’s possible- I love the festival idea! I have glasto tickets but don’t thing it’s going to happen! I think lockdown is adding to the feeling of being enclosed
