I’m sober (ish)? And a vodka and coke?....

I’ve posted before, but put it to the test tonight. 3.5 hours drank full bottle of 10.5 units of red wine on a full stomach.

Had vodka and coke too so it’s been 4 hours and I feel totally fine. Slightly tipsy.

That normal or what???

The more you drink regularly, the more your body tolerates it. I could drink 2 bottles a night at one point and no one would know I'd had a drink at all. (pre DC)

It's not healthy BTW. Not advocating at all.

Absolutely agree that it comes down to tolerance. I don’t drink every night but in the past, had I drank 11.5 units inn4 hours, I’d be on the floor.

Just realised you at *2* bottles of wine a night. I assumed it was 1.

Hope you don’t mind me saying but that’s a heck of a lot. As you say though, your body gets use to it

If you’ve been drinking a similar amount regularly you’ll tolerate it a lot better (if you want to have a truly sobering moment look at the effects on your liver - it basically reacts & adapts to your ‘normal’, but the consequences of high/constant alcohol consumption aren’t great).

I’m in no position to judge & have always had an incredibly high tolerance level (as in I can drink most people under the table - both male and female friends...not big or clever, just the way it is, even post pregnancy and bf & totally sober for 3 years at a time I still could when I started socialising again!). I guess it’s all dependent on whether, if you are entirely honest with yourself, you think it’s a problem or not? If you do then take action, if not then crack on!?

Exactly. Obviously, I don't drink that now. It was a rough time in my life. Many of my friends and family didn't even know I'd had a drink at all.

People don't just start at 2 bottles of wine, @TableFlowerss

It's usually a gradual increase.

I find drinking on an empty stomach to be much more effective :)
