to be heartily sick of All I Want For Christmas Is You?

Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas music and I think it's a great song, but FFS. Every time I hear a Christmas song on the radio or TV lately it seems it's either this one or bloody Fairytale of New York. (Another one which I do really like, but get tired of hearing on constant repeat.)

I have a Christmas playlist with all my faves, but sometimes it's just really nice to hear Christmas songs on the radio, or see the videos on the TV music channels. And there are so many great ones that just hardly get played in comparison to how often All I Want and Fairytale are!

AIBU to wish the constant All I Want/Fairytale loop was broken up a little more with other Christmas songs at this time of year?!

(Just to prove my point, I've got 4 Music on and All I Want has been smartly followed up with Fairytale. Meh.)

I was a kid in the 70s so Christmas songs of that decade are my absolute favourites, so many memories attached... Slade, Wizzard, Mud etc... and the 80s had some crackers too e.g. Last Christmas, Merry Christmas Everyone.

I just discovered today that there's a mashup of Wombling Merry Christmas and I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day, and it made my day.

I hate it because it’s Mariah Scarey and I can’t stand her. Could listen to my top three Xmas songs repeatedly though-

1. Fairytale of New York (which I loudly sing along badly to)
2. Stop the Cavalry - Jona Lewie
3. Stay Another Day - East 17

It's a terrible song, but it once won me £92 when I sang it in a pub quiz as a tie breaker so I've had a soft spot for it since then.

I haven't heard it much this year. But I want to know...I've been working from home since March (so no radio on the commute) and barely gone anywhere, so how the fuck have I still lost at Whamaggedon?

(And I fucking HATE Last Christmas.)

I really can't stand that Mariah Carey song. It has a strange effect on me because there's too much going on, it just sounds chaotic and sets me on edge. I also can't stand how people get so excited when it comes on and getting really into the 'youuuuuuuuu....baby ' bit near the end. 😂

Its carols from Kings for me and nothing else.
