To ask you to choose my hair?

Obviously posting here for traffic 🙈

I am SO bored with my hair! Please can anyone suggest some low maintenance styles I can ask my hairdresser for? Not sure about layers - do I want long, short, none? Also not sure what length would suit me.

I’m 24!

Difficult to know what would suit you without seeing your face but maybe try going blonde or some subtle (low maintenance) highlights and a fringe? And a bit shorter as your hair needs more volume.

RhodaDendron · 18/12/2020 20:18

Without seeing your face, have you tried parting it differently? It’s nice hair! Would you suit a fringe?
Colour always makes me feel more different than a cut. Otherwise I’d just ask for long layers and a wavy blow dry.

How about a jaw line bob? It’s hard to tell without being able to see your jaw line but a pixie crop may also be a good look. The bob is half way though and wouldn’t be as scary a cut as going full on pixie straight away!

Ooh I love this game! Is your hair straight / fine naturally? Some layers to add some volume could be lovely.

How about any of the styles attached? In a natural chocolate / mid brown colour they could look lovely I think.

Ophelia Lovibond and Felicity Jones are great inspo for how to make a classic cut look great in loads of different ways rather that it being limiting.

Full head ash blonde highlights

Christmasfairy2020 · 18/12/2020 20:51

Also layers are dated its about the blunt cut these days

Pandabuzz · 18/12/2020 21:04

Oh thank you all for your lovely help! I thought people would be horrible. 🙈

@Isthisentirelynecessary I have a pretty round jawline so I don’t think a pixie would suit me unfortunately! A longer bob could work though.

It is naturally straight with no wave so it just sort of hangs down. @youvegottenminuteslynn those pictures are lovely but I’m not sure how they would look with straight hair (because there’s no way I would curl it every day!).

Ah with no natural wave, if it's super straight I definitely agree with PP it would likely look dated with layers.

Do you have some examples of celeb / model hair cuts you really like and then people could advise similar that could work for you, or how they might be achievable for your hair type?

ForestNymph · 18/12/2020 21:10

I'd suggest a darker glossy colour, get an inch or two cut off the ends and focus on regularly oiling it. From the photo it looks like you have nice hair but it's a bit dry

Pandabuzz · 18/12/2020 21:23

@youvegottenminuteslynn I don’t really follow any celebs which makes it hard! From googling, I like these two styles which I think could work with my rounded jaw line...

I’d go blunt fringe and bayalage

As well as those two (Emma Stone always has gorgeous styles and colour) Karlie Kloss might be worth some googling as I remember she's spoken about having to have versatile hair as a model and that being tough as hers is fine and quite thin. Few examples attached.

Might also be worth going for a less drastic cut and colour for a little while and investing in a premium haircare system to get it stronger and glossier longer term which will make it easier to style whatever look you go for.

I think both the pics you’ve posted could work. I know people are saying don’t have layers - and I’d agree on not having them all through your hair - but a few around your jawline could be flattering if you have a roundish face.

Your hair is lovely. I'd get a few highlights put in to liven it up
