Anyone else having trouble streaming the footie tonight on Amazon Prime?
It keeps stopping and buffering and now has gone off altogether.
Seeing as we are paying for this service AIBU to think this is not good enough?
Never have this problem when watching on BT Sports or Sky.

DH is/ was. I think he’s casting it from his phone now. He’s been resetting the internet like a mad man so it’s good to hear it’s not our WiFi!

LadyCatStark · 16/12/2020 21:08

I should add, he’s watching it on Amazon Prime on his phone fine, it’s only through the TV that it’s buffering.

MerlotChiantiMontepulicano · 16/12/2020 21:15

Dh is watching the Tottenham with no issues.

Ilikewinter · 16/12/2020 21:18

Also watching liverpool match on main tv, it buffered twice for a few seconds but resolved itself

Gwenhines · 16/12/2020 21:19

Fine here. Wish I could swap cos football is boring but DH wants it on.

tisonlymeagain · 16/12/2020 21:22

Ours has generally been okay, a bit glitchy during half-time but fine now

BertieBob · 16/12/2020 21:23

We had the same problem here. DH gave up in the end.

TokyoSushi · 16/12/2020 21:23

Liverpool match fine here!

MonktonMonkey · 16/12/2020 21:24

No problems at all here.

PoptartPoptart · 16/12/2020 21:25

DS has managed to get the game up on the computer but it won’t play at all on the TV.. just buffering continuously

The Leicester / Everton match was ok here though it did take me about 10 minutes to get it working in the first place -

PoppyOppy · 16/12/2020 21:26

It's farcical. DH is refreshing the tv, running back to his laptop and flicking through my Amazon account because he's bored. I've said we should just watch something else but no, he's listening to his laptop to hear if Spurs score again.

SymphonyofShadows · 16/12/2020 21:27

It’s fine here for Spurs. We’ve only just realised tonight that Prime are showing matches though, I have no idea how long it’s been going on.

yelyah22 · 16/12/2020 21:28

We had a problem with it buffering and stopping early on but it's been fine since about 20 minutes in! I was blaming Virgin to be honest as they're less than useless but maybe it was Amazon's fault...

Averyyounggrandmaofsix · 16/12/2020 21:28

Working fine here on laptop. Have discovered it needs to stay plugged in though, it buffers on battery.

AlviesMam · 16/12/2020 21:28

Husband watching Tottenham with no issues xx

starrynight19 · 16/12/2020 21:29

Yes ours was buffering then went off completely. Now steaming it from iPad through the tv.

Theluggage15 · 16/12/2020 21:31

Picture definitely isn’t as good as BT or Sky. No buffering though.

DonaldTrumpsChopper · 16/12/2020 21:33

Ours was playing up earlier. We kept losing the sound too. Been okay for this second half though.

nosswith · 16/12/2020 21:37

There is football outside the Premiership, and you could follow the example of many football fans and refuse to pay. Over £300k for charity was raised by this.

LadyCatStark · 16/12/2020 21:45

@nosswith you don’t have to pay extra to watch it on Amazon Prime if you have it already, which we do.

alliejay81 · 16/12/2020 22:22

Bit late for tonight but if it's buffering make sure you are connected to your network by a wire not wireless. DH says the picture quality is poor even without buffering issues.

EnPoinsettia · 16/12/2020 22:34

Problems with the Liverpool match, worked on one TV not the other, then neither. Ended up casting it from phone.

Sunshine1235 · 16/12/2020 22:45

No problems here

We could refuse to pay, yes. The matches that were shown tonight were available for free to any Amazon Prime subscriber though. I suspect plenty of people will have started a free trial too, purely for the football.

I suppose I could refuse to pay for Sky Sports. I wouldn't get to experience all the beauty that Sadio Mane has to offer though. Or the sheer relief when the ball flies straight into Allison's hands. So I'll keep paying. (Top tip: they will slash prices if you call/webchat them. I'm getting Sky Sports Prem on its own for an extra £2 per month!).

Liverpool, the club and the supporters, do a lot for charity. We just don't use it as a tool to try and make others feel inferior though.
