Posting here for traffic as no responses on conception board.

Just as the title reads
and please can you state your ethnicity?

I want to do a crude analysis of how many women have conceived their first child after the age of 41 if they started their periods before 11.

I want to see if there is a difference in ethnicities as well.

I want to give myself some hope of trying to conceive my own child under these conditions.

Please do not respond with suggestions of adoption or donor eggs.

Thanks

I started my period when I was 9 and got pregnant with my first and only child when I was 39 so 30 years in between.
She was born 6 months after I turned 40 and I'm white British.

BalloonSlayer · 20/12/2020 09:26

I started my periods aged 14.

I had my last baby (unplanned pregnancy) aged 43.

Both my maternal great-grandmothers had babies at 48. I think I would have been able to conceive at 48 as well (had DH not had the snip). It occurred to me the other day that I hadn't had a period for a year so I am finally in menopause - I am 56.

I am "white British."

I think you should look to family history rather than us lot on mumsnet.

I wish you all the best - chin up! Flowers

I started periods at 9, white British and have PCOS, tried to conceive and haven't so far. We have an amazing child through adoption.
We don't use contraception now and I'm 42 so I'm guessing still unable to conceive. Everyone is different though and you would probably be better talking to a medical person!

allhappeningatonce · 20/12/2020 09:35

I started mine about a month before I turned 14. I would be highly shocked if I could have my last at 39 as I fell pregnant too easily at 30 and lots of my family on both sides had babies naturally at 44-45. In fact, I would say I'm planning on having one at 39 atm 🤷‍♀️ I don't think there's much link. The age of a girls first period has fallen dramatically over the past 100 years or so cos we no longer go through famine and stuff.

DollyParton2 · 20/12/2020 09:40

I started my period at 9 and am now pregnant aged 39 so that 25 years thing definitely can’t be true!

42andcounting · 21/12/2020 00:30

White british, started age 11. DD born when I was 43, no medical intervention to conceive.

We have a pattern of early starters and late breeders in my family, there have been a few of us following the same trajectory 😁

GingerScallop · 21/12/2020 01:22

Am late breeder but my pattern doesn't fit your specifications. Just wanted to say good luck and there is hope

Moanranger · 21/12/2020 01:32

I cannot remember if I was 11 or 12 when I had my first period. First pregnancy conceived naturally at 41, second at 43. Your current level of lutenizing hormone is key. White british

AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 21/12/2020 02:46

My first period was age 11 and am pregnant at 37. So that's 26 years. I'm white British.

I have, however, had 4mcs (and have a dd) but that's due to 'hyper fertility', the consultants think.

Have you read It All Starts With The Egg (think that's the title?). A few of my mid 40s friends swear by it.

About 50% of my new mum friends the first time round were late 30s-40s if that's any help.

KEA321 · 21/12/2020 03:12

Good luck. I started my periods at 10 and conceived at 36 (IVF, bad PCOS). I have never heard of the 25 year rule.
