Hi all, DS has had a covid test today due to a cough. Likely just from the cold he had but tested anyway. Other half stayed off work and will until negative (if positive we’ll think again but I’m planning for it to be negative 🤣)

Anyway. His work has just texted him to say that he must come in as there isn’t actually a positive result yet and others are coming in even if their children or other household members are off ill with suspected sure this is wrong??!

He’s now feeling guilty for not going and letting them down. His work attendance is usually fantastic. Before this year he hadn’t had a sick day for about 5 years. He’s lucky to rarely get ill himself. But this year of course we have to isolate if a family member has symptoms.

Aibu to think his work are assholes?!

He has symptoms. The whole household has to isolate until his test comes back negative.

His work all assholes. You all need to isolate until you get a negative result and can be fined for doing anything to the contrary. Your husbands work can also be fined for not abiding to the rules. I hope your son is ok.

Sorry, pressed post too soon.

Work ate arseholes. Maybe they’re confused with children self isolating because of contact, not symptoms.

So frustrating. His work hasn’t taken the virus seriously the whole time. Thankfully there hasn’t been any cases there. The staff have been good at social distancing and taking measures themselves but the owner couldn’t give a crap!

Ffs and this is why it is spreading!!

I'm a teacher and currently having to isolate along with my class after a positive case.. no test for 4 days as "just a cold"... positive and now we all have to isolate,

I'm just pleased my isolation ends before Christmas!

Mammyloveswine · 15/12/2020 20:26

Op that's directed to your hubby's workplace not you!

It's not fair for people to be under pressure from
Workplaces especially during these times of economic uncertainty...despicable to pressure people to come to work!

I genuinely think that a lot of people are unaware of the rules as there are so many! I think some people do "switch off" so to speak!

Employers like this make my fucking blood boil.

He absolutely should isolate until he gets a negative test.
