posting for traffic amongst the worlds doom and gloom.

me and dsis are having a zoom session on Friday and will be ordering pizza as it’s a payday treat. tonight we got into the best takeaway pizza debate. i like the standard kebab shop pizzas, however she insists Pizza Hut is the best!

I love pizza hut but they dont deliver to my area (despite having a restaurant 2 min drice away...) and im too lazy to drive to collect so normally end up getting kebab shop pizza.

So yabu and your sisters choice is best!

EveryPlanetHasAYorkshire · 14/12/2020 23:28

Papa John's is the best out of the chains imo.

StatisticalSense · 14/12/2020 23:30

The local Pizza place that is neither a chain nor sells kebabs is probably the best in terms of taste but I'd normally order Dominoes as that can be ordered on the app without need to talk to anyone on the phone. The only reasonably good think about Pizza Hut is that it is relatively consistent throughout the country so you know what you are getting if you need pizza in an unfamiliar area.

sazzysazz337 · 14/12/2020 23:30

Pizza Hut is overrated and I stand by it!

I only had Papa John’s the one time and I was in that horrible early feeling sickly stage of pregnancy and I’ve never been able to face it again! It was good though

Asda fresh pizza counter where you design your own.

Obviously you don't get the delivery but you do get it 100% fresh from your own oven. They are delicious and I am not a big pizza lover.

theoldtrout01876 · 14/12/2020 23:34

Im in the USA, this is my current favorite local pizza place Piezanos. Their subs are really good too

sazzysazz337 · 14/12/2020 23:35

@AnyFucker oh yes you cannot beat asda create your own! especially when you get that dead generous employee that starts loading it up properly

bubblebubblebubbletrouble · 14/12/2020 23:35

We had Asda 'make your own pizzas ' today . They always put too much cheese and toppings on ! Weird complaint but its true

shas19 · 14/12/2020 23:45

Dominos for me buttttt theres a pizza shop down the road that does any size up to 15inch for £11 and its sooo good also. Meatball, jalapeno, onion, mixed pepper and sweetcorn on a bbq base with a stuffed crust, wow

MidnightHangingTree · 14/12/2020 23:45

Domino's

chunkyrun · 14/12/2020 23:45

Pizza Hut, it's the stuffed cheese ball garlic crusts that win it for me

NeonSparkle · 14/12/2020 23:46

Pizza Hut 100%

BorisSortYourHairOutAndBrexit · 14/12/2020 23:48

Pizza Hut is the best by far IMO! I wish I could find a supermarket pizza that was as good!

Givemeabreak88 · 14/12/2020 23:51

Pizza Hut, I’ve heard papa johns is vile but I’ve never tried it!

iswhois · 14/12/2020 23:53

Papa johns is the best

Vivana · 14/12/2020 23:56

I worked on the asda pizza counter and nice customers always got a bit extra and the rude inpatient ones got the proper portions which are quite small if you order a 14 inch Grin

Titsywoo · 14/12/2020 23:57

Dominos is vile. Pizza hut is ok for a dirty deep pan every one in a while. We have a local place that does proper neapolitan wood fired pizza which is the only really decent one around here.

WouldstrokeTomHardy · 15/12/2020 00:05

Prefer local non chain outlets. Hate papa John's. Overpriced shite. Spent three times as much for about a quarter of the volume at a nice local and not even 1 percent of the quality. In summary I hate Papa John's 😂

Blibbyblobby · 15/12/2020 00:21

Tops Pizza, local chain around London and the South East.

I like a good traditional thin Italian pizza too but only in a restaurant, if it’s coming to me in a box on a moped it needs to be robust.

Brighterthansunflowers · 15/12/2020 00:25

I’ve been craving Pizza Hut for months (I don’t drive and they don’t deliver to where I live) but I think it’s 90% nostalgia for “Pizza Hut and cinema” outings of my teenage years

Vinnipeg · 15/12/2020 01:42

Of the three major chains (which are probably all worse than local pizzerias in most places) I'd say:

  1. Dominoes
  2. Papa John's
  3. Pizza Hut
Givemeabreak88 · 15/12/2020 02:17

All the non chain pizza places round me are disgusting Confused

BarbaraofSeville · 15/12/2020 06:32

All the main chains (Domino, pizza hut and Papa John's) are all pretty crap, as are most of those from the type of takeaways that also sell kebabs, chicken, burgers etc.

Asda pizza counter is awful too, nothing like real pizza so totally baffled about the love that it gets.

We're lucky enough that a street food van that normally does proper wood fired pizza with top quality ingredients for weddings and festivals and have set themselves up as a takeaway to try and keep going during covid.

In normal times we have a really good pub that does craft beer and good pizza so we tend to go there for a casual evening out if we fancy pizza.
