To ask you to recommend me some good quality slippers?

I’m fed up of crap slippers. I’ve tried all the high street shop ones and they’re all a bit rubbish. Can you recommend me some that are hard wearing, comfortable, good grippy sole, not pink or sparkly and will not go all saggy and end up being a health and safety hazard?

This thread is quite old now so some of the suggestions may be out of date, but if you’ve landed here looking for warm, high-quality slippers, we’ve recently updated our best women’s slippers page with lots of great options, as worn and loved by Mumsnet users. We hope you find it useful. Flowers

Unused to buy Celtic Cornish ones but they don't last as well as Shepherd.

I also put arch supports (half length) inside my slippers because I need them.

Bakersdelight · 14/12/2020 20:16

Gumbies are great!

Christmassequins · 14/12/2020 20:19

@Bakersdelight

Gumbies are great!
Yes, DH has Gumbies. He's very hard on his slippers but they've survived 2 years already and still look like new
EKGEMS · 14/12/2020 20:21

Uggs are amazing

luckylavender · 14/12/2020 20:30

Mahabis or Birkenstock's

sunkengalleon · 14/12/2020 20:57

Fitflop clog "slippers", had for more than 5 years and they're still so comfy. Plus easy to nip out in to put bins out etc etc. Feet feel brilliant as soon as I put them on.

Scunnered03 · 14/12/2020 21:19

Another vote for Gumbies.

TeaLibrary · 14/12/2020 21:33

Definitely Celtic sheepskin ones. They are amazingly warm and comfy and not saggy at all.

Lined crocs

Giesswein. Lovely wool slippers that last for years.

Letsrunabath · 14/12/2020 22:02

I’ve had my Biden ones for 7 years but sorry to say ordered another pair only because mine looked tatty and they didn’t last a year. Now have Ugg ones and they are wearing well. Although I do keep my old Biden ones as back up.

MissKittyKitty · 14/12/2020 22:05

Another one for Mahabis.

Whatisthisfuckery · 14/12/2020 22:11

Thanks for all the suggestions. Sorry I’ve taken a whole day to respond.

I’ve had a look at lots of them and not made up my mind yet, plus a lot of places have sold out of my size. I might hold up until January to see if there are any sales. Some of the ones I like cost what I would consider a fortune.

I’ve had a pair of ugg slippers for a couple of years now and they are still so comfy and they haven’t become stinky like cheap slippers seem to 🙈 would highly recommend

Oneeata · 14/12/2020 23:17

I've had my Emu sheepskins for 6 years they're amazing throughout the year warm in winter/cool in summer and not a whiff 😖 comes from them.

pistachioicecream · 14/12/2020 23:36

@Henlie

Mahabis! Had them three years this Christmas. Still going strong 😊
Am thinking about getting DH a pair of mahabis for Christmas. Can I just ask how they fit? Are they true to size? Thx
BlueThistles · 14/12/2020 23:40

so glad to have found this thread.. marvellous slippers options thank you 🎉

LunaLoveFood · 16/12/2020 22:53

@biddybird to begin with I was really cautious and used febreeze on them but after a while (and a few trips around the garden) I've used hot soapy water and let them dry out under the radiator.

biddybird · 19/12/2020 17:49

@LunaLoveFood thank you! Hot soapy water for them this evening.

kilburnfrenchie · 19/12/2020 20:45

Uggs. DH had to buy them for me as I couldn’t get over price tag. Still wearing them 8 years later. Proper outdoor sole. Cosy.
Worth £75..

Proudboomer · 19/12/2020 20:59

Several Christmases ago I was given some emu jolie. Not the sort of thing I would usually buy or the price I would pay for slippers but I now would never go back to cheaper slippers. They are worth every Penny.

balzamico · 19/12/2020 21:22

Fitflops but leather not fabric
