A wish list for a dog

A family member got a puppy a few weeks ago.
We are going to their house on Boxing Day so I have bought gifts for family member their spouse and their kids. I will also take a contribution to the buffet they are preparing and drink.

Got a message this morning with a wish list of things for the new puppy. Ranging from £15 to £52.99. Saying- just some ideas for you we don’t want little X to miss out.
What? Am I meant to buy someone’s pet (that I’ve never even met) a Christmas present? This can’t be a thing surely?

I'd take a bag of treats and say "you were winding us up with that wish list weren't you!"

My dog would prefer an Uber eats account I think!

I buy presents for friends pets (if I know them well). But it’s usually a bag of Dreamies or Dog Biscuits, ball. If you did want to get something get a Kong dog toy. Any of the fancy dog stuff has always been ignored by my dogs. One of my dogs gets a box of 20 tennis balls second hand off EBay every year the other dog gets a teddy bear. They both get a raw leg of lamb for dinner (unless it rains, they get it on Boxing Day then 🙈).

Dd is coming for Christmas with her much loved little dog. It's his first Christmas with her. She's child free by choice and I have no other grandkids to spoil so I admit, the dog has been spoiled.
At no point did DD send a wish list and if she did I'd have thought she'd lost the plot.

My sil always buys Xmas dog biscuits for our dogs . It’s sweet. I’d be horrified if she spent £15-20 on them. And a wish list is bad enough for a human, let alone a pet!!

Ps the correct reply to this message is “give over, it’s a dog not a person and won’t feel left out. Get a grip!”

We buy presents for our dog but would never expect anyone else to. PILs do though

Jesus! I don't even buy my dog or cat a Christmas present since, you know, they're animals and have no idea it's Christmas 🙄🙄
