to offer my cheek not my lips to dp...

dp has just stormed off in a huff (to shops, with DS, as arranged) because when he went to kiss me goodbye i offered my cheek not my lips. "whats wrong with you?!" he almost-shouted. "what??" i reply.
this is mid fridge-clean and i have a stinking cold and DS is teething and also has a stinking cold, and im trying to get on with the housework for the 45 minute break while they go to the shop, and sometimes i dont feel like playing the loving wife.
is it ok to not want lip lip contact without there being a major reason? or am i being mean? ("again". he would no doubt add if he was on mumsnet. which he's not. thank god.)
answers please. preferably clever ones so if he starts a row about it when he comes back i have a good retort! needs to be fairly quick cos he's off out tonight so we can't be arguing all evening....

YABU!!

My dh gets a proper kiss no matter where we are!

We were stood in front of the kitchen window this evening.. he was cooking dinner & I was stood against the sink chatting to him. As he walked past me he slapped me on the backside & kissed me.

I always kiss him properly goodbye in the mornings etc.. tell him to drive carefully. It's such a routine in this house that even ds (2.10) says "Kiss n hug daddy? Now drive slowly!"

I would apologise as I would feel guilty but state my reasons for pulling away.

Oh and show him a snotty tissue to back up my point! :D

talulasmum · 22/10/2007 20:52

i cant believe your all so yukky lovey.

lomondgore · 22/10/2007 20:57

I love my man so shoot me! :D

talulasmum · 22/10/2007 21:02

why do you have to kiss him on the lips everytime he leaves the house? that doesnt mean you love him? i love my dh i just dont kiss him when he leaves the house.

fireflyfairy2 · 22/10/2007 21:06

How long have you been together Talulasmum?

16 years.

but it would honestly get on my nerves if i had to give him some big smacker on the lips, everytime he left the house.

sometimes hes in and out 3 or 4 times a day, id be worn out.

fireflyfairy2 · 22/10/2007 21:15

Ah, you see I don't feel I have to.

I want to.

It's intimate, loving, shows we care.

Not that you don't care because you don't kiss!

fireflyfairy2 · 22/10/2007 21:15

We'll be together 14 years soon. Married 10.

talulasmum · 22/10/2007 21:18

would dh be bothered if you didnt?

fireflyfairy2 · 22/10/2007 21:29

Yes, he would.

He has often came out to the car to kiss me goodbye if I haven't kissed him before I left.

talulasmum · 22/10/2007 21:30

well im jealous now.

fireflyfairy2 · 22/10/2007 21:31

Ah don't be

Hellcat · 23/10/2007 12:22

You must always kiss goodbye on the lips
It could be the last time you ever see him!

Lorayn · 23/10/2007 13:03

Oh Gosh, Hellcat, yes, imagine that

MaeBee · 23/10/2007 14:04

i will endeavour to give a goodbye shag every time he pops to the corner shop, cos it might be the last time i see him!
in fact, don't most fatal accidents happen in the home? we should be beating out the rhythm of the swamps before either of us leaves the room!

I once met a BF at a trainstation and because I'd bumped into someone I knew there who was with me when he turned up, he gave me a cheek when I went to kiss him.

I could have smacked him in the head.

I dumped him of course, this was just the tip of the iceberg in terms of physical weirdness.

But I guess if you've a cold it might be a bit different........

fireflyfairy2 · 23/10/2007 20:57

MaeBee, a goodbye shag sounds like a must!!

GreebosWhiskers · 23/10/2007 21:09

My dh does this to me too - when I move in to kiss him goodbye he turns slightly so I miss his lips. Drives me fcking nuts tbh & puts me off trying. I don't have bad breath (at least I don't think I do) so wtf? It actually puts me off trying to kiss him.

Of course when he's feeling frisky it's a different matter

screaminghousewife · 23/10/2007 21:11

, my dp gets huffy about this aswell, shhish, men and their egos!!
