C-19 and homeless/drug addicts

What has happened to them? In our local towns there were always one or two beggars around every day. These people were clearly very unwell.

But since c-19 they seem to have vanished.

Is it too much to hope that the council has put them all through treatment and rehoused them?

Google "everyone in scheme". The government gave funding to homeless charities to get everyone off the streets during the first lockdown. Although I can't find any up to date info on it now.

I work for a homeless charity, we've been funding hotel rooms for people to stay in. As the above poster said there was the everyone in scheme first time round where the government funded it and a lot were rehoused thanks to the hard work of support workers.

Treatment for drug addiction slightly different as people need to be ready and want it for it to really work.

There are still people out though and more people becoming at risk due to job loses/family breakdown etc.

I know locally they have overnight travellodge rooms, we can drop warm clothing off there too which is nice.
